I have a few ideas of my own, but have you guys used anything that has actually worked good for blocking DHT? Something OTC? I am on 10g androgel packets and my 5a reductase enzymes must be on hyperdrive.
Saw palmetto's primary therapeutic action is to inhibit 5-alpha reductase in forming DHT and to a lesser extent, 3-alpha reductase, and to block the action of DHT to receptors on prostate cells via 3-ketosteroid reductase.
I wouldn't waste time on herbs with dubious effect and unintended consequences. Get a proscar prescription from a dermatologist. Then cut the 5 mg pills into 1 mg. Take as needed to control DHT. I recommend testing your DHT. Don't guess on hormones.

For over 2 years I was using Proscar and latter Avodart.
They are strong.
1pill/day of Avodart got my DHT to too low range.
One or two pills a week should have been better.
Two years ago I changed to T-shots at first opportunity.
