I have consistently elevated fasting glucose (110 - 119) as a result of elevated norepinephrine levels from dysautonomia. Based on some quick research, it seems that metformin may both reduce my fasting glucose as well as help reign in my norepinephrine levels.

Anyone taking metformin for prediabetes? Has it helped you? If so, how?

From what I've read, this is med has a pretty benign side-effect profile. If successful, it could allow me to reduce the dosage of my alpha/beta blocker, which makes me extremely tired, now that I am taking a higher dosage. Trying it seems like a no brainer. I plan on raising the issue with my dysautonomia doctor, later this week.

Thanks in advance,
J
