Well I am going to give it my best shot to post a detailed log for the next 10 weeks during my Trifecta Stack cycle, with special thanks to Liftergym33, FlexW99, Hookset. I have outlined my supplement regimen below, I just started this morning, Monday, January 10th so here we go!

I am 40 years old, 6'2", weighed in at 226.5 this morning, have not done my measurements yet, but will tomorrow when the wife is up to it. I will take a couple of pictures and try to upload them to this thread to see progress. I am looking to put on some lean muscle mass and drop a bit of body fat in the process, and get my strength up to hit the weights hard and heavy!!

I am planning on competing this year in bodybuilding, and it has been about 3 years since my last competitions, and want this year to be "The Year!" To achieve your goals, write them down, envision them daily, stay true to yourself, and give it no less than 150%!

So that is it, my road map to success! Below is day #1 as far as training and nutrition. I train a 2 on/1 off split, cardio 5 days a week for 30 minutes to start, then increase duration later, my goal is to try and put on some muscle here so my calories need to be a little high. I eat CLEAN! Below is a typical day, I make all my food the night before and pack it so I know exactly what is going into my body at all times!

Training:

This is day #1. I just did chest/abs/cardio today, got to bed a little late Sunday night, but still got it done...NO SLACKIN'!

Chest:

Push-ups (warm up) - 4 sets/20 reps
Incline Barbell Press - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 185, 225, 275, 295 lbs.
Decline Dumbell Press - 4 sets, 12/10/10/8, 80, 90, 95, 100 lbs.
Hammer Strength Flat Press - 4 sets, 180, 270, 320, 360 lbs.
Exercise Ball Incline (Low Pully) Cable Flys - 3 sets, 60, 70, 80 lbs.
Dumbell Pullovers - 3 sets, 80, 85, 90 lbs.

Does your chest hurt reading this? Mine right now is still pumped from this morning and the soreness is starting to set in...awesome!

Abs:

Crunches, leg lifts, and planks...nothing special...worked them to a good burn!

Nutrition:

As far as my meals for the day:

Woke up: Protien Shake (25 grams) w/water

Post workout: Protien Shake (50 grams protien, 54 carbs - orange juice & banana)

1st whole meal: 6 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 1 cup oats, 1/2 c. blueberries

2nd whole meal: 6 oz. Sirlion Strip steak, 1 c. brown/wild rice, 1 c. broccoli & zuchinni

3rd whole meal: 6 oz. Sirlion Strip steak, 1/2 c. brown/wild rice, 1 c. broccoli & zuchinni

4th whole meal (dinner): 6 oz. Sirlion Strip steak, 2 c. broccoli & zuchinni

Protien Shake prior to hitting the pillow (50 grams w/Coconut Milk...healthy medium chain fats!), and 1 tabls. natural Peanut Butter, not the jar crap either...the store I shop at has one of those machines that grinds up whole peanuts and whala!! Real wholesome peanut butter!

I will manipulate my calories as I go, eat CLEAN carbs, no sugars except from natural sources (fruit), healthy fats...and fat from meat and eggs, and fruits and veggies galore!

Water...water...water! All I drink besides supplements, shakes, and my morning coffee here in the office!

I will continue to log daily for a bit...one thing I did notice was a rush from the MMV3, I definitely felt some sort of sensation, and my mood was great! Lots of energy, up until now...and looking forward to day #2!

That's it for now...check back later:)!

Day #2...once again I had some interupted sleep last night as I was called into work at 1:30 am due to being on-call for work last night. I work for a Public Works agency (water, street, & wastewater departments) here in the San Francisco Bay Area and sometimes we get those unfortunate wake-up calls in the middle of the night by the damn pager, BUT still got my butt out of bed at 4:15 am, took my supplements...liking them :), drank a shake and off to the gym...

Training:

Shoulders/Traps/Rear Delts:

Flex Machine Shoulder Press - 4 sets (warm up) 20/15/12/10, 135, 185, 235, 285 lbs.
Military Barbell Press - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 135, 155, 175, 195 lbs. (have a nagging rotator cuff soreness, have to be smart on this movement doing free weight)
Side Lateral Dumbell Raise - 4 sets, 15/12/10/10, 35, 40, 45, 50 lbs. (last set drop set down to 25 lb. for 15 reps and a good burn!)
Barbell Upright Rows - 4 sets, 12/10/10/8, 95, 115, 135, 145 lbs.
Barbell Front Lateral Raises superset w/ - 4 sets, 15/12/10/10, 55, 65, 85, 95 lbs.
Barbell Shrugs - 4 sets, 15/12/10/8, 225, 315, 405, 455 lbs.
Rear Delt on Pec Deck Machine - 4 sets, 20/15/12/10, 80, 100, 120, 140 lbs.

I was pretty much toast after this, shoulders burning and feeling a great pump...I could have hit another smaller bodypart like calves...but ran out of time.

Nutrition:

As far as my meals for the day, pretty much the same as yesterday...I make a lot of food to cover a few days of meals at one time:

Woke up: Supplements (listed above), Protien Shake (25 grams) w/water

Post workout: Protien Shake (50 grams protien, 54 carbs - orange juice & banana)

1st whole meal: 6 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 1 cup oats, 1/2 c. blueberries

2nd whole meal: 6 oz. Sirlion Strip steak, 1 c. brown/wild rice, 1 c. broccoli & zuchinni

3rd whole meal: 8 oz. Chicken Thighs (cut up w/onion & spices), 1/2 c. brown/wild rice, 1c. broccoli & zuchinni

4th whole meal (dinner): 8 oz. ,Chicken Thighs (cut up w/onion & spices), 2 c. broccoli & zuchinni

I will have a Protien Shake prior to hitting the pillow (50 grams w/Coconut Milk...healthy medium chain fats!), and 1-2 tabls. natural Peanut Butter...same as last night. I will double check my caloric totals in a little bit, but should be on target...may go on a two day carb-up to get ready for leg and back days, get the extra power for squats, deadlifts, leg press...all of the fun exercises!!

Now for my strength, well besides only getting approximately 3-4 hours of sleep last night I feel great! My strength feels like it is there, but am looking forward to the days/weeks ahead when the cycle really starts to take affect. Again, this is only day 2 so I don't expect a lot as of yet, but still have like an euphoric feeling from the MMV3 everytime I dose...hard to explain.

One thing I did notice and am kind of bummed about is that my chest isn't that sore from yesterday's workout...I feel like I pushed the weights well, but not sore. To know me is to know that I chase that soreness feeling every workout, it just makes me feel like I accomplished something in my previous days training...and when I don't get it, I question my performance and if I pushed myself hard enough...that's just me.

Tomorrow is an off day, so I will catch up on sleep tonight and probably just do a bit of cardio tomorrow morning just to get my blood pumping to start the day...plus just want to keep my regimen on track...want to make the most of this entire cycle!

Well I hope I am not disappointing in my logging, still have to get measurements, photos, and even see if I can get my body composition checked in the next week and I will post that.

Just to touch on the taste of the supplements...I have had my fair share of nasty, choking down, supplements in the past...all I can say is the taste is great! I am a big fan of citrus, I like the tartness, so the ASGT & AP (citrus) are great tasting...even the GHenerate is good. I haven't used my big jugs of them yet, I got sample ones with my order (Supplement Warehouse) and have been using those first, so cant wait to try the other flavors later.

Ok, done for now...finishing a meal and getting back to work.

Check you later!

Thanks bro, I figure the more info the better...although I can go off on a tangent once in a while :)...and in no way will I waste the supps! Are you going to log your cycle as well? It will be interesting to see how the supplements affect different people.

I will log mine for sure starting in about 2 weeks.

Yea it will be good to compare with the age and workout experience differences how the supplements effect us.

Keep up the good work!!!

My little girl's birthday is tomorrow, she is turning 5...damn they grow up so fast, wish they would slow down :(, my oldest turns 18 in March...anyway all of you keep it real today, train hard, and stay focused to your goals!

Thanks my brother, I sure will!

I have been blessed with my oldest daughter, we have a very close and loving relationship...to the point where she looks forward to spending one on one time with me, which seems to be rare with most teens these days. The other thing is that being a bodybuilder and being my size :), the boys think twice about wanting to date her which is good for her so that she can stay focused on her career goals to become a police officer. She is an Explorer (volunteer cadet) for our local police department and they just chose her and one other cadet to be enrolled into the police academy for the next 18 weeks (weekends)...she (and her daddy) are stoked! I couldn't be more proud! I'm sure you will find the same with yours, don't know why I was so blessed, although not to say we haven't had our moments :(...but the precious times outweigh those ten fold!

Got to get back to work, thanks for the birthday wishes to my little girl, I will have her read this tomorrow on her birthday...she will be stoked :).

Have a great day bro...and to all of you here!

Outstanding, on behalf of LG we wish her a fabulous birthday!!

It seems you have a great relationship with your daughters. Which, is very important in the society there growing up in today, compared to when we grew up. My youngest, 3yr, is everything to me.. so i understand exactly what your saying when i read what you type about yourself and them. My son is older and almost 9yr. We have; in my mind, one of the best father and son relationships anyone could ask for; he may not agree when hes in trouble though:lol:.. Well rest up!, enjoy the day with your daughter tomorrow!

That is sweet news brother...congratulations! Please tell me you and the misses are going to wait to find out if it will be a boy or a girl until she is born? There are not enough surprises like this one in life, and the feeling you get when that little angel comes into this world and you are watching the entire miracle...priceless bro! A good buddy of mine told me when my first was being born that "life is in black and white, then when the nurse puts that little newborn baby boy or girl in your arms for the first time, everything turns to brilliant color!" He was so right on!

I am about to go take my little birthday girl to her favorite restaurant for her 5 year birthday dinner, so I will be back to log in my awesome day...not only training, eating, and supplementing, but the day that I spent with my oldest daughter while the birthday girl was in school...Flex, you are going to love being a daddy!

I will be back later!

Congrats man!!!

Greatest thing that you'll ever experience...
So far so good. It was 'difficult' at the beginning..Almost thought something was wrong with me..That has obviously since faded..Thank God for that..

Next week we can find out 'gender'. I think we are going to find out. I've heard very similar stories and her Dr said his personal choice is to wait it out as well, but for situational and circumstanstial stuff, I think we're gonna find out. Needless to say, I cannot wait!

Bad Ass brother!!!!!, Congrats to you and yours!
Thx Chris, much love.

Alright, sorry for the delay in my log...I now have to catch up on the last few days...thanks again for all the birthday wishes that were sent to my little girl, she was pretty excited to see all the messages on here wishing her happy birthday. Congratulations once again to the soon to be daddy Flex...and thanks to LG Sciences for making quality supplements that make me excited to get up in the morning and get the day rolling in the right direction.

It is Sunday, and I actually was scheduled to train today but instead I trained for the past 3 days straight so I could have a nice morning just chilling, so sitting in front of my computer with my 1st dose of M1D, multi-vitamins (Gaspari Nutrition Anavite), and a double shot of ASGT, and I just had a shake and my MM1V an hour ago, and am going to get some good calories in today!

I have not gone off track of my supplementing at all, for those of you who are just looking on here just scroll to the top and you will see my supplement schedule. My mood, the fullness of my muscles, my strength, my energy levels have been great, I am a little sore from the past two days workouts due to being able to push myself a bit harder knowing how I had recuperated from workouts on days #1 & #2, which is good...again makes me feel like I accomplished something. So let get on to my workouts for the past 3 days:

Day #4:

Training:

Thursday - Back/Biceps (great workout! This is one of my favorite training days!)

Wide-grip Lat Pulldown - 4 sets (warm up 20) 20/15/12/10, 130, 160, 190, 220 lbs.
T-Bar Rows - 4 sets, 12/10/8/8 reps, 90, 135, 180, 225 lbs.
Close-grip High Pulley Rows - 4 sets, 12/10/8/8, 240, 285, 330, 330 lbs.
Wide Neutral Grip Seated Rows - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6, 150, 180, 210, 220 lbs.
Dead Lifts (a staple for every back day!) - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6, 225, 315, 405, 455 lbs.
Machine Rows (Flex Latimus Dorsi) Finisher! - 3 sets, 10/10/10, 330 lbs ea. set.
Standing Barbell Curls - 4 sets, 15/12/10/8, 55, 75, 95, 115 lbs.
Lying Cable Curls (on a seated row machine) - 4 sets, 12/10/8/8, 100, 110, 120, 130 lbs.
Dumbell One Arm Preacher Curls - 4 sets, 10/10/8/8, 35, 40, 45, 50 lbs.

Very pumped after this workout, I immediately slammed a serving (4 scoops) of Postal after this workout, then 15 minutes after that was my shake (50 g Protein, 54 g Carbs) with the rest of my supplements. I felt such a fullness in my pump for hours after that, must be the Postal...although I also drink a serving of Modern BCAA's during my workout, so I'm flooding my muscles with amino's already, not sure if the Postal is overkill? But I like the feeling from it! Will have to order a bottle this week maybe...just using samples right now.

Nutrition:

As far as my meals for the day, it doesn't change much...again I make a lot of food to cover a few days of meals at one time:

Woke up: Supplements (listed above), Protien Shake (25 grams) w/water

Post workout: Protien Shake (50 grams protien, 54 carbs - orange juice & banana)

1st whole meal: 6 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 1 cup oats, 1/2 c. blueberries

2nd whole meal: 6 oz. Sirlion Strip steak, 1 c. brown/wild rice, 1 c. broccoli & zuchinni

3rd whole meal: 8 oz. Chicken Thighs (cut up w/onion & spices), 1/2 c. brown/wild rice, 1c. broccoli & zuchinni

4th whole meal (dinner out with my little girl for her birthday): 6 oz. Tombo Tuna, grilled (awesome hearty fish, like a Swordfish), 1 c. Mixed Veggies, 1 c. Rice w/Red Quinoa mixed in (really good!) I also cheated a bit here :) and had a few bites of cheesecake... special occasion!

Pre-bedtime Protien Shake: 50 g. Protein w/Coconut Milk and 2 tbls. Peanut Butter

And all supplements of course!

Now on to:

Day #5...lots to log...

Training:

Friday, Triceps/Upper Chest (shaping): I give triceps their own day due to mine lag, their are a few body parts that just lag on most of us, so give them special attention, and I throw in my upper chest again just to isolate it to try to improve my development there as well...

Push-ups Close & Medium width hand positioning (warm-ups) - 4 sets/20 reps
Incline Close Grip Barbell Press - 5 sets, 15/12/10/8/6 reps, 135, 185, 205, 215, 225 lbs.
Incline Bench Skull Crushers SUPERSET w/Close Grip Dumbell Press - 4sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 65, 85, 105, 125 lbs. (Skull Crushers), 35, 40, 45, 50 lbs. (Close Grip Dumbell Press)
One Arm Dumbell Tricep Extentions SUPERSET w/Close Grip Cambered Bar Push-ups - 4 sets, 10/8/6/6 reps, 20 reps ea. Push-ups, 25, 30, 35, 40 lbs.
Tricep Push-downs SUPERSET w/Pec Deck Flys emphasizing on the SQUEEZE!! - 4 sets, 10/10/10/10 reps, 140, 160, 180, 200 lbs. (Push downs), 190, 220, 250, 280 (Pec Deck)

Same thing as the previous day as far as post workout supplementation, slammed a Postal after training, then the following for the rest of the day...

Nutrition:

Woke up: Supplements (refer to Supplement schedule at top), Protien Shake (25 grams) w/water

Post workout: (15 minutes after serving of Postal) Protien Shake (50 grams protien, 54 carbs - orange juice & banana)

1st whole meal: 6 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 1 cup oats, 1/2 c. blueberries

2nd whole meal: 8 oz. Chicken Thighs (cut up w/onion & spices), 1 c. brown/wild rice, 1 c. broccoli & zuchinni

3rd meal: Protein Shake (50 g. Protein) w/water, and 1 medium apple (I was in a training class for work on this day so couldn't get in a whole food meal at this time)

4th whole meal (as soon as I got home from training, dinner): 8 oz. ,Chicken Thighs (cut up w/onion & spices), 2 c. broccoli & zuchinni

5th whole meal (make up for missed afternoon meal): 6 oz. Sirlion Strip, 1 c. veggies (the usual)

Bedtime: Shake (25 g. protein w/Coconut Milk)

Again, I am feeling great as far as my mood, my muscle fullness, and my recovery is really good. This is only day 7 today, so I am one week in...maybe LG reps can chime in a bit as far as the time it takes for their supplements to really start to take affect, but I can feel something as far as feeling tight and full. I remember reading about others having strange dreams while taking I-GH-1 and GHenerate, but have not had any strange dreams, just really good sleep. It has been really easy for me to get up in the morning feeling totally rested, as I have been getting up at 4 am during the week and 6 am on the weekends, no desire to sleep in...too excited to get up and get my supplements in me and get some solid calories as well.

I will add one more thing :)...as you know I am 40, my test levels are declining and it has been a long time since I can say I have woke up with "morning wood", well since about day 3 I have been waking up with morning wood! Funny and interesting, don't know if that is TMI (too much information) but found it very important as far as my test levels and libido seems to be increased...my wife mentioned it as well...keeps telling my to stop waking her up poking her with it :)...she is like "What are you on now??" Anyway, a little information for LG reps, not sure if it is useful for you, but am liking it!!!

I know I have one more day to catch up on but I am going to go make some breakfast so I will come back in a bit and put down yesterday's log...which was a tremendous leg day...very strong, awesome workout!

I will be back shortly!

I promise to have my wife take some pictures of me to post now that I am coming to the completion of my first week...I always procrastinate on this but will get it done today. We will also take my measurements so we have something to compare at the end of the 10 weeks.

Be back in a bit!! Hope this is informative enough for all of you, if there is something that I am not touching on let me know...LG reps (Lifter & Flex) let me know if you have any specific questions...I will add them too!!

You sir are one dedicated Iron brother!!!

Fantastic diet, workouts, and log!!!

In all seriousness, you are really doing everything to maximize the supps to your advantage, I commend you on that.
I wish I had that much discipline, but I'm working on it.

Waking up with wood is a good thing for people in our bracket. The supps I'm on now are helping my libido and it's good to know the Trifecta with the added GHenerate(and other supps) are helping. Gives me more to look forward to.

Look forward to further updates...

Oh I am pissed off right now...I just spent a good 20 minutes posting yesterdays log and with one damn click of the button "gone!" I lost all information because I didn't save it...I will never make that mistake again as I will now have to type it all over again...SOB!!! Well, let's try this again...

Day #6

Training:

Saturday, Legs (Quads/Hamstrings):

Leg Extensions - 5 sets (1st set warm-up), 20/15/12/10/8 reps, 100, 130, 160, 190, 220
Squats (Smith Machine, feet together in front) - 4 sets, 15/12/10/8 reps, 185, 225, 275, 315 lbs.
Hack Squats (feet wide) - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 245, 335, 425, 515 lbs.
Leg Press (feet shoulder width) - 4 sets, 12/10/10/10 reps, 665, 845, 1025, 1115 lbs. (no I am not exaggerating, I will increase this weight in the next coming weeks)
Hammer Strength Single Leg Extensions - 4 sets, 12/10/8/8 reps, 45, 70, 95, 120 lbs.
Lying Leg Curls - 4 sets, 15/12/10/8 reps, 105, 125, 145, 165 lbs.
Seated Leg Curls - 4 sets, 15/12/10/10 reps, 115, 135, 155, 175 lbs.

Yes my legs were done after this, I LOVE LEG DAY!!! This is one of my favorite days considering the feeling you get for days to come...plus if you don't have a base (like the chicken leg guys in the gym who only do upper body all week) you pretty much look ridiculous! Also to keep in mind, movements like heavy squats, presses, dead lifts, bench presses, release the most test and growth hormone in the body due to them being compound movements...plus you just feel them in your entire body! I had written so much more in the log that I just lost and am pissed because I am trying to remember what I was saying...and I have to get off of this computer and get some chores around the house done...but as I remember I will post. Damn I hate when I do that!!

Anyway, I went on a tangent about testosterone levels and that mine must be naturally low due to my age and my declining test levels unfortunately because I just have this sense of well being and feel so much better since starting this stack and think I will have to use a supplement while off cycle to try and get my natural test levels up...but one thing is for sure...I will be running this stack again!!!

Going to get for now, I will check back as I remember stuff...thanks Hookset for your comments, I am dedicated...maybe even OCD about my training and bodybuilding, you can ask my wife about that, but as I have stated...ALL OR NOTHING!! I need to give it 150% or else I feel I am wasting my time...and supplements.

Oh yeah, what I was saying last time before I lost my last attempted log...grrrrr...is that I think we all would like to be in the same shape as like Sylvester Stallone in the Expendables, damn he was ripped...and yes I know he is ON all the time I'm sure and why not...his body probably doesn't produce any test at this point, so what is it going to hurt. Anyway, longevity my iron brothers, we want to train and get as big and muscular as possible and be able to continue for the rest of our lives...at least I do...and want to continue to be able to put on muscle every year I am doing this, so companies like LG are going to help me achieve these goals...and I am glad I have switched over from USP Labs to LG, because I never felt this good while taking their Prime, Pink Magic, Powerfull, and Jack3d...can't wait for the weeks to come.

Check back in a while...thanks for viewing my log to you all!!

Oh, nutrition from yesterday...that is what I forgot...here real quick

Same thing as the previous day as far as post workout supplementation, slammed a Postal after training, then the following for the rest of the day...

Nutrition:

Woke up: Supplements (refer to Supplement schedule at top), Protien Shake (50 grams) w/water, 1 Ezekiel muffin

Post workout: (15 minutes after a hefty serving of Postal) Protien Shake (50 grams protien, 54 carbs - orange juice & banana)

1st whole meal: 6 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 1 cup oats, 1/2 c. blueberries

2nd whole meal: 8 oz. Chicken Thighs (cut up w/onion & spices), 1 c. Organic Angel Hair pasta, 1/4 c. Olive Oil w/Pesto

3rd meal: Protein Shake (50 g. Protein) w/Coconut Milk, 2-4 oz. Mixed Nuts (while watching the play-offs yesterday, sorry Falcon and Raven fans, but they were some good games!)

4th whole meal: 6 oz. Grilled Salmon, 1 c. Rice w/Quinoa, 1 c. mixed vegetables, 1 c. fresh fish Ceviche w/tortilla chips (a healthy treat)

Bedtime: Shake (50 g. protein w/Coconut Milk)

Ok, if I forgot anything I will come back and post it for you all...thanks for your patience and for viewing my log...hopefully this will help others to put together a solid stack/cycle for yourselves!

Thanks my brother...I just put yesterday's log up...read it, I actually did it twice due to losing it the first time because of my computer illiteracy! Thank you for your kind words...YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!! Set your mind to it, as I tell everybody...if I can do it so can you! It is a mind set, it is the path to obtaining our goals we set for ourselves, I will be here for you and all...I would love to spread my knowledge and experience with all who want to make a difference in their training and nutrition...anyway, we are Iron Brothers, we are in this together, we will keep in touch for years to come and help each other out.

Thanks again...will check back with you later! Football time!!!

This log is really a learning lesson for me.

First thing I took away is preparing food ahead of time. Spent some time yesterday lining up my meals for the next 4 days. Have never got into that before but I actually had a good day today with the meals all planned out.

Just a question- Can you comment yet on recovery? Notice any difference?
How about your joints? Any difference?

Lifters right, this log is shaping up to be a good one.
Thanks for committing to it!!!

Well, like I said on day #2, I was kind of disappointed that I had a good workout that I didn't get sore from...that my friend is my muscles recovering much quicker than normal... my chest wasn't sore from the previous days workout. Now keep in mind, I had only been on day #1 of the stack...now supplement wise I don't believe they kicked in that fast...but who knows! My joints are fine, although I always supplement with 2 mg. Copper daily for my joint and tendons, as well as Gluclosamine/MSM supplement...if you are having joint or tendon soreness that is inhibiting you from training I highly recommend these two supplements, as well as Omegas will help too...which will be in your EFA's.

Eating, taking little one to swim lessons, then back to log today!

Did this answer your questions Hook??

And Hook...good job on preparing your meals ahead of time...it is a must!!! I will BBQ like 12 chicken breasts or 18 thighs, or like 6 sirloin strips and keep them in the fridge in Tupperware containers for easy access, make my egg whites the night before, always keep a can of tuna in the lunch box, lots of veggies, fruits, protein shakes, supplements, etc.

You never know how a day will pan out...always be prepared!!

Good job Hookset!!

Thanks Brother

Really trying to get into the food to maximize my potential gains.

I often feel I can lift heavier but joints and tendons can be strained from lifting heavy already. At my age it is a weak point.
Need to start with Gluclosamine/MSM supplement. Copper? I'll have to read up on that one.

Thanks for the feedback

Ok, it is another beautiful day here in sunny California, and especially here in Half Moon Bay! I am logging for a couple of days today, and will start with yesterday...which was a phenominal day! Got to love the weekends, and especially when you can add an additional day due to a holiday! Was able to get that extra hour sleep yesterday morning...so on with the show!!

Day #7

Training:

Monday, Chest/Calves:

Push-ups - 4 sets of 20 (just to warm up and get the blood into the muscle)
Incline Dumbell Press - 5 sets, 15/12/10/8/6 reps, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 lbs.
Hammer Strength Incline Press - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 180, 230, 270, 290
Decline Barbell Bench Press - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 185, 225, 245, 265 lbs.
Max Rack Wide Grip Presses - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6-20 rep drop set, 185, 225, 275, 295 lbs...dropped down to 135 and did 20 reps to finish
Seated Cable Flyes - 4 sets, 15/12/10/8 reps, 80, 100, 110, 120 lbs.
Hammer Strength Dip Machine - 4 sets, 10/8/8/6 reps, 180, 230, 270, 290
Standing Calf Raise - 4 sets, 20/15/12/12 reps, 225, 315, 405, 495 lbs.
Calf Sled - 4 sets, 12 reps ea. set, 225, 315, 405, 405 lbs.
Hammer Strength Super Calf Press - 4 sets, 10 reps ea. set, 225, 315, 405, 495 lbs.

I felt pretty good during this workout, started out a little slow, don't know why...but progressively picked up the pace and weight as I went along. My strength is there, if I had a training partner I could push more with a spot...which I am looking into recruiting one right now...accepting applications!!

So here is my nutrition for the day...

Same thing as the previous day as far as post workout supplementation, slammed a Postal after training, then the following for the rest of the day...

Nutrition:

Woke up: Supplements (refer to Supplement schedule at top), Protien Shake (50 grams) w/water

Post workout: (15 minutes after a hefty serving of Postal) Protien Shake (50 grams protien, 54 carbs - orange juice & banana)

1st whole meal: 8 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 1 cup oats, 1/2 c. blueberries, 1 Ezekiel Muffin w/Agave Nectar, 2 Turkey Bacon Strips

2nd whole meal: 8 oz. Ground Turkey, 1 c. Organic Angel Hair Pasta, 1 c. Brocoli

3rd meal: Protein Shake (50 g. Protien), 2-4 oz. Mixed Nuts

4th whole meal: 8 oz. Ground Turkey, 1 c. Brocoli

Bedtime: Shake (50 g. protein w/Coconut Milk)

My eating was a little light on this day, my wife was very sick from drinking...we believe...old water out of a bottle that may have been sitting in our truck, or just a passing bug, but was tending to daddy duties during the day. Did a mid-day cardio walk with my daughters, and tried my best to get some calories in...but definitely am today.

I am a bit sore today from yesterday's chest workout, calves are a bit tender too...I still feel my recouperation time is shortening, but I am trying to really push the heaviest weights I can without a spotter...and utilizing Hammer Strength machines for my heaviest lifts.

I was in a weekly construction meeting with a contractor this morning and he did mention that I am looking bigger and fuller than last week...hmmmmm that is a positive note! He also asked what I am taking...obviously no comment...just hitting it harder is what I replied, need to play it safe around my work and career, but you all know my secret...shhhhh!

Once again I just wanted to touch base on something that was replied to me yesterday about preparing meals ahead of time. THIS IS CRUCIAL my iron brothers, we need to be taking in the right amount of calories from protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fats...and the only true way to do that is by stratigically preparing your meals the day before! Plus, I really don't trust how restaurants prepare food, meaning hydrogenated oils, unhealthy fats and crud they use to make their dishes...I prefer to make my own meals so that I know EXACTLY what is going into my body. Just like Hookset said yesterday about taking one thing away from these logs is that he started preparing his food ahead of time...this is a staple!

The main thing that creates an anabolic affect in our body is.....FOOD!! Lots of lean protein, good carbs, and those delicious healthy fats...the only way to build soild muscle my iron brothers...and sisters (sorry Rosie if you happen to read this :) ).

I will be back later, need to work! Lunchtime is over!

Look into it Hook, it really does help. Keep in mind, as for any supplement...the affects take some time so don't expect it to miraculously work initially...start taking it and give it some time...you will feel the difference. My coach/trainer, who helps me get ready for my competitions, had me start taking Copper when I was having tendonitis in my forearm, it is legit!

Keep up with preping your food daily, it is the only way to go!!

I'd put in an application for training partner but I'm way over here in NY state.
BTW we are having some nasty ice storms here!!!

One of my issues is not having a spotter when you really want to go all out on certain exercises.

I have the same issue with Tendonitis in the elbow, it actually affects my workouts at times. I'm looking into these support supps tonight.

Great log, this is really motivating me to go all out on my Trifecta stack.
Question-Do you have a recommendation for a protien shake brand?

Keep up the good work bro
Hope your wife feels better!!!

Yeah, I hear you all have been having some fun in the snow/ice back there? A good friend of mines daughter goes to Collgate College back there and just flew back this past week...he was worried to say the least. Keep warm, don't let the storms keep you from training...I'm sure it's not :)!

Anyway, yes get some Twinlab Copper 2 mg, you will not regret it! It cleared up my tendonitis after a few weeks of supplementing with it...I wouldn't steer you wrong!

As far as the protein goes, I use 1 of 2 protein powders lately...one is High 5 from Max Muscle, it is a very good, solid protein that has low carbs and sugars, and it is a blend of 5 different protein sources...which I am an advocate of due to the digestion rate. It has Whey for fast acting (like after training) as well as Casien (which is slower digesting, good for before you hit the pillow), as well as other Whey's and egg white protein. If you have a Costco by you, out here they sell a protein called Pro Rated by Wellements, it is another protein blend that is actually a great deal...6 lb. bag for $28.99 out here...but I do know there are Max Muscles in New York so if you are near by one get High 5...they usually run a deal "Buy 1 and get 1 at 50% off!". Also if you become a regular customer you can get on their list for 20% off purchases. I have a buddy who owns one here in the area, so call me spoiled :)...I get deals. One other one that I have used in the past which isn't too bad is Labrada Pro V 60, it is just kind of expensive, but you can check on-line at like Supplement Warehouse, DPS Nutrition, or I'm sure others may carry it. I have been drinking them for over 17 years, so it is all about quality and of course taste...and these taste the best! Just one suggestion...stay away from Muscle Milk and EAS proteins...Muscle Milk is way too fattening, and EAS I heard gets their protein from China...not good!!

Hope this helps you out my brother! Yeah, would train with you in a heartbeat...but too far to drive in the morning :)! I can't tell you how many training partners I have gone through...if I could get my last one back...which is my wife...that would do. She just can't get up with me at 4 a.m., she applauds my dedication, but she thinks I'm nuts! She is great at spotting though, she isn't too strong to pull the weight away from me, but she is strong enough just to get me past my sticking point and a few more reps. Got to work on her :).

Stay warm bro! Hope this helps you!! Thanks for the wishes for my wife, she is getting better...cranky, but better :)!

East Coast Iron Brothers! If ever in Califonia, in SF Bay Area...we will have to hook up for some serious training! Hey, does LG need a West Coast Rep :)? I like the snow, but not that much! The weather all over has been crazy, we don't get it nearly as bad as all of you, so I won't even talk about bad weather here.

Thanks Flex (soon to be daddy!)! I do pride myself on eating healthy, and trying to pass that on to my family as well, especailly my kids. When I moved here to Half Moon Bay I changed a lot of my diet to organic as well as grass fed and free range as much as possible. Watched the movie "Food Inc."...was reluctant to, but did...I won't even buy my kids McDonalds or any fast food...I will cook 3 times a day for my family before feeding them that crap! And Flex, cooking is fun! You can get creative, and if you like I can send you some great recipes like "Muscle Chili" or a great recipe to make your own healthy protein bars...have all kinds of killer ones my friend!

Let me know, you have a friend on the West Coast!!!

Well lets get caught up while I have the chance, got to go home and cook up food for the next few days so will be busy, lots of chicken!!

Day #8

Training:

Tuesday, Shoulders/Abs:

Shoulder Press Machine - 6 sets/2 warm-up, 20/20/15/12/10/10 reps, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180, 200 lbs.
Military Dumbell Press - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 60, 70, 80, 90 lbs.
Smith Machine Behind the Neck Press - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 95, 145, 165, 185 lbs.
Seated Side Lateral Raises - 4 sets, 12/10/8/6 reps, 25, 35, 45, 50 lbs.
Low Cable Front Raises - 4 sets, 12/10/8/8 reps, 80, 100, 120, 140 lbs.
Hanging Knee Raises - 4 sets, 15 reps
Cable Crunches - 4 sets, 15 reps ea. set, 150, 170, 190, 200 lbs.

I had to get into work a little early this morning so I was a little pressed for time, although my shoulders were screaming and pumped up BIG time! I still have this feeling of fullness/pump all through my chest and shoulders from the past two days of training...it is awesome! I am loving this feeling, energized, solid, sore, the best! This is just day #8 and I still have 34 more days on the Trifecta...going to keep this train rolling full speed! Tomorrow is supposed to be an off day...but damn, if I feel good tomorrow morning I may just have to hit arms and cardio...the bug is hungry!!!

So here is my nutrition so far for the day...have a couple of more meals before bedtime...

Nutrition:

Woke up: Supplements, Protien Shake (25 grams) w/water

During workout: BCAA's sipped throughout...no Postal today, still have a question about it before I purchase it...but I like it.

Post workout: Protien Shake (50 grams protien, 54 carbs - orange juice & banana)

1st whole meal: 8 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, 1 slice of lowfat cheese, 1 Ezekiel Muffin w/Almond Butter

2nd whole meal: 8 oz. Ground Turkey, 1/2 c. Quinoa, 2 c. Spinach

3rd meal: Protein Shake (50 g. Protien), 1 apple w/ Almond Butter (love this stuff :) )

4th whole meal: 8 oz. Ground Turkey, 1/2 c. Quinoa, 1 c. Brocoli (while I am cooking chicken)

5th whole meal: 6 oz. Chicken Breast, 1 c. Spinach

Bedtime: Shake (25 g. protein w/Coconut Milk)

So my question to Flex and Lifter...is Postal a little overkill if I am already taking BCAA's during my workout and then my post-workout shake with Glutamine with simple and complexed carbs? The only thing I see I am missing from it is Creatine that is in the Postal, but Waxey Maise Starch, BCAA's, and can't remember off the top of my head the other ingredients...just curious...I do like the feeling from it after a taxing training session, but is it enough to justify buying a couple of jugs of it?? I have been using samples I got, so just about a few more servings left.

Let me know what you think...and I did weigh myself this morning first thing and last week I was 226.5 lbs. starting on day #1, this morning I was 230.5 lbs. Probably water weight as I seem to be a little puffy, but just wanted to put that in too. Still have to get my wife to take a couple of pictures of me to post...sorry for lagging!

I will leave you all with some words of wisdom..."Desire Creates Power!" If you have the desire...you will achieve!! Stay true to yourself, stay focused on your goals and dreams!

Still here following along AND taking your advice

I got me a big bottle of the Gluclosamine/MSM and found where to get the Twinlabs Copper.

I'm looking at the protiens you recommended.

To maybe answer your Slin question- I haven't used that but have used USP labs Anabolic Pump and usually take it a good 20 mins before a high carb meal.
I'm sure Flex can jump in if I'm mistaken.

Subbed in...extremely interested in your results especially since I am considering taking this stack, and it sounds like you have already taken the Asteroid stack, which is the other stack I was considering. I would love to hear the differences from you and anybody else with experience with either stack. Both of those are very appealing because neither contains any banned substances, and I probably want to compete in the light heavyweight novice class.

Don't waste your time or money on the Asteriod stack, it didn't do anything for me. You will not go wrong with the Trifecta stack...I have a few days to post still, but I am already preparing for my next 10 week run with it after I get through my PCT from this run, ordering my supplies and keeping them in stock for when this 10 week run is up...I am an LG believer now...I haven't felt this good in a long time! Keep checking back, I will get on here later and get caught up with my post...just too much to do. Maverick's surf contest is this weekend...it is a madhouse here in HMB!

I have fallen behind, and I am sorry for all who have been following...have not had a moment to sit in front of the computer to log my last 6 days...have it all written down and will get it done...PROMISE.

We lost the Godfather in the iron world last night...Mr. Jack Lalanne. There is one thing we can learn from one of the icons in this industry it is longevity!! Keep training and never give it up, it is our lifestyle and what separates us from the mediocre! Jack also was a huge advocate on proper nutrition, something I also am a huge advocate on as you can see in my log. There is a saying of Jack's..."The only way you can hurt the body is not use it...Inactivity is the killer and remember, it's never too late." It is never to late to achieve your fitness goals and build the body you have always desired, set your goals!

Below is a link to a great article about him..."Rest in peace Jack Lalanne!!"

Well my fellow Iron Brothers, it has been over a week since I have logged in my progress and I appologize...work, studying for a state exam (which is this Saturday), family, and life in general takes over and before you know it I have to play catch up! I don't want to let anybody down, so I will try to stay on this from here on out...especially once I pass this exam Saturday!

I have not skipped a beat just to let you know...as a matter of fact, I have not taken a day off the gym since the last time I logged! Even on my so called off days I went in and did some cardio/abs, cardio/biceps, and cardio/triceps. Just a small muscle group on those days...but my body is feeling great! My recovery is phenominal, strength has been steadily increasing, the muscle fullness is great, and I am just over 2 weeks into the cycle. I have stayed true to the supplement regimine, my nutrition is right on, although I should try to get some more sleep...so will go to bed early tonight if the powers to be allow me to...my wife :).

Just to get back on track quickly, I am just going to give a brief overview of what muscle gropus I have trained the past 8 days...and I promise to be as detailed as I was in the beginning from here on out!

Tomorrow may be a real off day to let my body rest before I hit Back/Traps/Biceps on Friday, and Leg day on Saturday (prior to my exam...it will relax me for it :)...can you say PASS!!)

I am off of work Friday through Sunday, so I will get back to my detailed logging for those days, and going to switch up my nutrition a bit too to see if I can trigger some more fat burning...maybe three days of a low carb/high fat for an anabolic affect...we shall have to see.

Hopefully I haven't disappointed, if I have I will make it up!!
