How many *ticks* on a 1cc slin pin

Really? Why do you think they printed that "10" there on your syringe?

So diabetics would not know how much insulin they are taking?

All insulin syringes available in the usa are calibrated in "International Units" of U100 Insulin. U100 insulin has 100 IUs per ml. Therefore a 1 cc (ml) syringe hold a max of 100 units. Ergo, the numbers are in IUs, so 10 means 10 IUs, and is 1/10 of a ml by volume.

Yikes! You need to look at the Insulin syringe you are using. There are several versions depending on the number of units. For example, there are units per 1cc and units per .3cc. You need to look at how many tick marks you have based on the size of the syringe. On the 1cc syringe (100IUs) if you have 50 tics, there are 2 units per tick as previously mentioned. On the .3cc syringe, the ticks have been subdivided to allow .5 units to be dosed. Hope you have not been shooting 10 units!
 
Ohhhh I deserve all the sarcasm that I get. Boy was I stupid and lucky to be alive. I was shooting 70 IU's of slin thinking it was 7 IU's. No wonder I was so tired. Thanks for your help and I am glad to be here writing this.

Honestly you really are incredibly lucky. How long were you taking it at this dose? With doses that high for an extended period of time one could easily develop insulin resistance. You might have been insulin resistant already to even survive 70 ius of slin, what kind of slin were you shooting? how many carbs were you taking in? This baffles me as to how you are even alive. Being irresponsible like this is what end up ruining things for the rest of us, but I am just glad your alive and I hope you realize just how lucky you are and learned from your mistake.
 
He has to be joking for him to take 70ius of slin. If he was to take 70ius of humalog he would have to ingest 700grams of carbs in the first hour in order for him not to die. (700 maybe high but even so 500) thats like 2800Kcals.

No he did not need 700g of carbs in order for him not to die.

I think the first 10 responses were enough. Lay off the guy he fucked up, I'm sure he feels bad enough.
