Effect of IGF-1 and Insulin on each others receptors

I have read that Insulin will bind to IGF-1 receptors and IGF-1 will bind to insulin receptors therefore both can decrease the affinity of the receptor of the other. Does anyone have any studies that show how much they decrease affinity or how long it lasts? Is there a general consensus of how long you should be off of one before you start the other to let the receptors return to normal affinity?

Thanks.

Also instead of starting a new thread I was just looking at the Blood Glucose vs. Time graph that einstein had made on AR. Has anyone tried insulin IM, he says it speeds up the onset of the insulin, but I thought IM injection of insulin slows down and interupts the stable action of insulin?

Thanks again.
