Storing IGF without a solvent

The stickies at the top recommend that we use Benzyl Alcohol (or acetic acid) as a solvent to keep the IGF-1 potent for long periods of time. But if I only need to store it for about a month, is that even necessary? Could I just keep it in powder form and then at the time of injection dissolve it in water?

I would keep in in powder form until you are ready to inject it

All right, but can I just use distilled water (as opposed to bacteriostatic water)?
