i was wondering if IBE was still or ever was located in Mandeville, LA. if so, do ya'll have like a big lab/warehouse to checkout. would be cool to take a tour and meet some of the guys behind IBE, take a few photos. would drive a little ways out my way on the way home to NO to check yall out. thanks

I was trying to delete my response. Sorry.

They are in the process of moving to a new warehouse.

They moved from Metarie (I believe - maybe Kenner) after Kat to Mandeville.
I've no clue if a new warehouse is opening.

I'd also love to meet up with the IBE folks.

We might move again if JMH decides to come visit ;)

I'm going to visit and jump in the vat of NueroBalance. I'll suck down a lot of product before you guys can catch me and throw me out into the swamp.

ahh i think i see a bigger picture. i remember a man opening a research company in metarie/kenner (where i worked for 2 years) and then it moved.

im in lafayette now and ive gotta say, best town in Louisiana! thanks for the replies guys, i'll make a field trip one day whenever yall get settled in to your new home.

I think "best" is a relative term down here.

I need to go read the newspaper to see how much of this new oil and natural gas money will be swindled away.
I have honestly no clue what this state spends it's tax dollars on. It sure isn't the schools or roads (that I've driven on).

I'm looking to move on sometime soon.

Louisiana boy here

You don't really think Louisiana politicians would swindle the good citizens of LA of this new windfall of federal royalties do you? What basis would you have for such an assumption? Huey Long, Russell Long, Edwin Edwards, David Duke, the New Orleans mafia?

Besides we have NEW ploliticians to look out for us:

Kathleen Babbling Blank Stare
School Bus Nagin
Mary Laundry List
Bill "The Freezer" Jefferson

How can we go wrong!!!

PS. The royalties are only on NEW fields in the gulf, which assumes that no one ends up suing to stop the leases, Green Peace picketing the area, discovering a rare fungus, etc. We're still stuck with 3% royalties on the existing fields which are serviced from LA, like Morgan City, Houma, etc.

I may have to come visit as well. I got friends in Abita. Maybe I can grab a Purple Haze to wash down a OT-1.

Peace

well you summed it up quite well, specially with the purple haze. I love Abita's beers, so clean and refreshing.

Yeah - I think you pretty much said it all Finn.

Oh - and that governor that gave the 'Aints all that money (Mike something) years back.
Didn't work out all that well, eh? (One good year does not make a good investment.)

The new revenue should be pretty substantial. It is only new fields. But - the BIG Chevron field out in the deepwater will be covered by the new 37.5% law just signed (plus anything in the area 81 or whatever off the coast of FLA).

People will protest - but the state has shown they are serious about streamlining permits for new oil and gas installations. They are courting Kuwait HARD to build a MASSIVE refinery on the river between BR and NO. I mean really hard. Tons of tax breaks, etc. (It would be a joint venture with a big oil company - Shell is my guess.)
So - I think they'll do as much as they can to push new drilling through.
