| Registered User | CNN Article on 'Jerks @ the Gym' Just thought I'd share with you all this article I came across on CNN, about 'Gym Jerks', people @ the gym displaying unacceptable behavior, by their definition. Dealing with jerks at your gym - CNN.com The main reason it irked me was they make it sound as though you need to be completely silent, and are not allowed to sweat cause that is 'icky'. Some stuff, like talking on the cell phone, I agree with, but other parts just seem like more health spa style complaining and bullsh!t. I also like how it is an article about unacceptable behavior, and they show a muscular black man appearing to be grunting while squatting. Muscles? Weights? At the gym? God forbid. |

| Registered User | i can't believe cnn would write an article on something like this. If people are so clueless that they don't know how to deal with people in the gym and need to read an article helping them, they have bigger problems then gym bullies. |

| Banned | I hate intentional grunters....Ya'll know the ones.I also hate the singers. This one girl always sings and it's never words or anything, just these moan type things and she'll do little dances between sets. She's got a good voice but I don't want to hear it.I hate the half reppers, the same thing every daypeople, the machine people,I hate it when I'm waiting for something and the person is half a$$ing the sets and talking in between,I also hate the nudity in the locker room when theirs a room out side the shower to change in.You know the double curtained showers? But heres what I do about it......I put up with it!If it gets to me then I transfer the anger to the weights. |

| Registered User | No matter what time I go, no matter how late, no matter what locker I choose, everytime I get done with my workout and go back to the locker room there's always a fat, smelly naked guy using the locker right next to mine. I've given up as no matter what I do, it always inevitably happens. |

| Registered User | I tell you the worse thing ever happened It's when my original gym first opened, 7 years back and they did not have a box in on the toilet area yet. It was open basically. So Im getting done with my work out and i go in to get my stuff...Im there getting my things and this guy walks in...so, Im paying him no attention due to having my back turned getting things out of the locker. When i turn around, this guy is sitting on the toilet taking the browns to the super bowl...im like wtffff? I just acted liek he werent even there, got my shoes, and walked out ... I had no idea what to say. Luck favor's the prepared man |

| Registered User | wow... this is interesting... It seems like people who are serious about lifting don't belong in a gym. I think that people who think we are too serious about lifting don't belong in a gym. I just look at some people and question whether they are there to make a difference in their life or just to give them the confidence to eat the last donut when they get home... WE ARE PENN STATE! Current log: anabolicminds.com/forum/workout-logs/110627-inarius-vs-sheiko.html The toughest lift of all is your ass off the couch. |

| Registered User | I have a new appreciation for grunting and yelling since I've been working out at home. I used to minimize any such noise at the gym. Not avoid it, but not just let it loose like I do at home. Now, I'm very fond of screaming on my last 2-3 reps of squats and deads. ![]() |

That would have def. been awkward, esp without the doors. Hm. I guess if I were in that situation I would have just rolled with it, ran up to him and kicked him over while he was sitting on the toilet. It's not like the situation would get any more awkward. Does that make sense ?

Sometimes I hear so much grunting, huffing, and screaming I wonder if people are working out or if they are filming a gay pornographic film. Much to my disappointment, everytime I look over they are just working out. Go figure.
