| Registered User | ***support diabetes*** punksurfer's Tour de Cure thread 2009 Tour de Cure 2009 presented by american diabetes association Hey everyone, once again this year ill be riding the Tour de Cure. in february 2009 I will be riding 70 miles to help support diabetes research. The tour de cure is a cycling event set up by the american diabetes association to help raise money for a cure to a horrible disease, and to promote a healthy lifestyle to prevent said disease. As many of you know i am a firefighter/paramedic and frequently run emergency calls on diabetics. Because of this i have seen first hand the damage this disease does. This damage is much worse when one does not have the information to effectively control the disease. With your support more diabetics will be able to get the info needed, the supplies needed and the research needed to make this disease more managable and eventually cured! Last year I rode the 70 miles and had a blast doing so (recovered for the next week or so afterward ) And this year I am able to get a head start on my fund raising. My goal for 2009 is to raise 5000 dollars. I think it is achievable and appreciate any help/donations I can get. If you are unable to donate i understand as the economy isnt doing so well, but if you cant please let your friends and family know and spread the word. Last year I had a ton of support from not only members of bodybuilding forums I frequent but even from the actual sites and supplement companies, hopefully the generosity carries over to this year. Thanks again for all your support. Like last year I will be bumping this thread as often as possible and will add some pictures from last years event. If you would like to donate or just get more info about the event please click the link below to see my personal Tour de Cure page. thanks again guys. Tour de Cure |

| Registered User | so far they've found 3 different cures for type 2, but the ADA won't post any of this. its sad. my best friend has type 1 and the pancreatic islet cell transfer doesn't seem to do anything at the 5 year mark. You look like you've hit rock bottom, and now you're starting to dig.... |

3 cures for type 2? correct me if im wrong but type 2 is diet controlled. so eating healthy foods that keep insulin from spiking and dropping is theoretically a "cure". Im very intrigued though, what 3 cures are you talking about? medications i have seen for this only help it but dont get rid of it, you have to take the meds for rest of life. muscle pharm board rep.

| Registered User | diabetes can be controlled through diet to some extent, but i'm talking about something that will allow you to have that glass of orange juice. testosterone therapy cures type 2 stomach stable / lap band cures type 2 exercise cures type 2 basically, belly fat specifically controls natural testosterone rates, which thereby affects insulin, so anything that reduces belly fat or puts on muscle will put type 2 into remission. if you are non insulin dependent, IMHO you don't have a disease, since you don't need medication. basically, whats happening in the PH world is a direct correlation to this - summer ban 2008. if something could burn fat AND put on muscle.... Merc Pharma stands to loose hundreds of millions of dollars in lipitor and viagra sales if people can take "safer" PH's like tren / bold products that build muscle with very few sides, so they left all the ones with nasty sides (SD) on the market. think about a diabetic taking a PH that gives them a bad triglyceride count, or low good cholesterol count. GWB doesn't care about the integrity of baseball contrary to popular belief - i.e. barry bonds. GWB signed jose canseco on to the texas rangers when he was their manager. its all about big business. sad really. and to think they bashed tren for teens taking them, while the medical community hailed it as the first SARM. canada seems to be doing interesting things with type 1 - the islet cell transfer. however, at the 5 year mark, only 20% of the type 1's still did not need insulin. and its expensive as heck. links as follows: Health News on Yahoo! Health Le Magazine, December 2007 - Cover: The Textbook Of Bio-Identical Hormones Testosterone’S Overlooked Role In The Treatment Of Diabetes In Men You look like you've hit rock bottom, and now you're starting to dig.... |

this keeps it in check yes, but if you stop any of those it will come back. solid diet, supplementing with whey protein does the same as well. belly fat increases cortisol levels which effects testosterone. stomach staple does not cure anything just allows the body not to take in as much food that will spike insulin levels, making it a more stable increase/decrease. If the person with type 2 isnt obese, then a stomach staple will do nothing but mal nourish said person. if test levels are normal in that person then test therapy will do nothing. and if person exercises and still has it then overtraining isnt going to help. there are many many conditions that lead to type 2 diabetes, some are as you said above. but not all. really have no clue how this turned into a conversation about PH and the legality. If you have this condition/disease a doc can prescribe it to you, so the legality is no issue at all. as for PH being the cure, no. the exercise and healthy diet that a bodybuilder has in addition to the ph, yes. muscle pharm board rep.
