| Applied Nutriceuticals Rep   |  Music Downloading helo So i just bought a new Macbook and it came in today. Im looking to find a free music downloading program like limewire or something, but without the viruses and such that limewire has on it. Also, Does anyone know where i can find virus protection and stuff for mac? |

| Registered User  | I think Avast has a free Mac anti-virus program. I use the pc version and have had no problems. Resident bum and schadenfreude of Club Myth Everyone is entitled to my opinion. |

Honestly man, I don't know. Been a PC user for ~20 years now. If you are doing P2P stuff, look into something like Peer Guardian 2 (windows program, might be a mac version). I'm sure there are better P2P programs than Limewire though. It's mostly viruses that you are going to pick up through content, not necessarily the program itself. | Registered User | With the PC, Avant segregates them and puts them in a vault. Not sure on Mac. I'll ask my wife tonight. I think she has Norton. Resident bum and schadenfreude of Club Myth Everyone is entitled to my opinion. |

| Muscle Pharm Rep  | No one really writes viruses for Mac's. Definitely learn how to use torrents and you should be safe. Once you start up college you will probably be able to get free anti-virus from them so just don't store anything to important on the laptop now without backing it up and you should be set. PS. | Applied Nutriceuticals Rep | ill tell you what otday is the first day i used it and i absolutely love it. i have had more stuff open at one time then ever before on a PC and yet it did not slow down a bit. whats torrent? limewire on my PC has that option, but i dont know what it means |

This file is uploaded to what is called a tracker (Server). Now this server host the torrent for download. When another person downloads the torrent, the server tells that client about the other people that have the file or pieces of the file. Then the swapping commences. | Corpsman Up!  | No need for anti-virus for a mac. I've been running apple for sometime now and visit some unscrupulous sites sometimes and not once had a virus. I would recommend YASU and use it to clean up your caches and cookies etc. that's about all you need to do. If you start using torrents I would suggest downloading Transmission.
