drank 10oz of egg white

that's how bad I was craving protein post workout today, I went to the grocery store across from the gym, and bought a 16 oz carton of all whites and just drank it. Got about 2/3 of the way through before the temp dropped and the taste started getting on my nerves. That's a first for me though.

My shakes almost always contain 1 cup egg whites, 1 scoop protein powder. Equals out too about 45grams of protein. Cant taste the egg, and the powder get's mixed in real good.

yeah I take in a lot of whey lately (2 50g shakes) and I'm noticing that anything over 20g of whey makes me look bloated and I feel
sluggish for a couple hours afterwards, I think I'm going to start doing the same as you and just start taking in more egg.

Same thing here, switchn to more eggs has made a HUGE difference for me. It just seems like a lighter meal, than all that powder by itself.

One thing to think about though is that egg whites cause a biotin, and i think magnesium deficiency. This may be just raw egg whites, not the pastuerized boxed ones, but maybe something to look into further. I take a multi-vitamin so i feel safe.

Does anyone else eat raw eggs ? I eat 6-7 raw eggs at a time.


I know people talk about salmonella, etc.. I've gotten it before. It's not that big of a deal.

I eat raw eggs almost every morning. One of the best bodybuilding foods there is.

Last I recall, there is no evidence citing raw eggs are any better than fried. At one time it was believed the protein was degraded, but I believe that was 'debunked'. Really no reason aside from convenience to eat them raw. That being said, they aren't that bad.

a case of salmonella can vary greatly in severity though, some people might just feel queasy for a day or so, others might be losing it from both ends at such a fast rate they need medical attention. Like any temperature sensitive food though, I think if you just keep them cold and don't let them get older than a couple weeks, you're generally fine.

yeah I'm just drinking them raw lately for pure convenience, but I figured it couldn't hurt the protein composition either.

You're right, I mainly said that because eggs in general are great, and raw are very convenient. I might be crazy, but I really seem to lean out and recover better when I include more egg in my diet (as opposed to protein shakes). I love my eggs.
