Hell, I'm going to be on my THIRD one not long from now...lol. I already purchased an engagement ring that I had custom made for my chick. It has a 2 carat radiant cut center stone. I wanteda quality diamond and went all out on the rating instead of just size. The diamond is mounted with a antique setting, square at the top with 112 diamonds mounted around the top and sides of the setting and on the three sides of the band. All is set in white gold. I paid $16,000.00 for it, but it has been appraised for over $20,000.00.

The wedding portion I still need to have made, but it's going to consist of the same diamonds as are set in the setting and band, just a lot more. I'm just broke now...lol

There was a woman who was 26 who called in that recently got engaged (3 weeks ago). The guy bought her a white gold ring with a 1 caret diamond.

She was calling in to the radio b/c she was upset and she wanted a 4 caret diamond in platinum, not white gold.

So because of this, she hasen't told anyone (friends/family) that she was proposed to by this guy, b/c inevitably they will ask to see the ring which in her words, she is incredibly embarassed about.

She only wears the ring around him, but really hates it and says she has 'high' standards and shouldn't settle for a ring that she dosen't want.

One of her solutions was to "accidently" lose it.

Discuss. The phones are open.

Her ass needs to be fired...pronto!!!!
In the long run, that is NOT the type of woman you want to be with, and that will never leave you.

If I found out, id get the ring back, and and probably do the break up in a bar, from the mic on stage or something. So everone can know what this woman is like. j/k

Either way, I seriously hope he finds out what he really has on his hands, and shows her the the door.

The flip side is:
If a few years down the road, a guy wants to replace the ring with siomething really sweet....have at it. I know a lot of people do this.
I commented on a ladys looney toons size diamond ring at work recently. She said her husband got it for her on their 10th wedding anniversary.

somewhere i heard that the cost should be about equal to 3 months pay. the type of ring it is depends entirely on the girl and you, and your feelings about her, and expression of your love and commitment to her.

i bought my wife an okay ring several months after being married, because you're supposed to have rings. i meant.. ex-wife.

a buddy of mine bought some cheap junk out of the quarter machine at target (kmart/walmart/whatever, same stuff). well, for his ex wife anyway.

it is what it is
