What would you do?

Today I had to give away my two Labs, b/c my neighbor called the cops twice in two days(Friday and then Saturday) about them being in his yard. I was given a $500 fine and told that if I got rid of the dogs that the fine would be waived. I typically lock them up when I'm gone, but while I'm at home I let them roam around the yard(2 acres). They never wander very far or are in the streets chasing cars. My neighbor has never once complained about my dogs. In fact he killed one of the Labs' puppies two weeks ago while I was in the yard, b/c she wandered into the street while he was going about 40mph(speed limit is 25mph). I heard it yelping and saw that half of its body was crushed by the impact. It was coughing up blood and had ribs protruding from its body. I ended up shooting it after being unable to contact an open vet. on a Sunday at 7:00pm. I was pretty burned up by that, especially when I saw the blood stain where the impact occurred being off of the road(meaning he went off of the road and into my yard to hit it). He came out of his house while I was trying to figure out what to do with the dog. He lied and told me that he locked up his brakes trying to avoid hitting it and that she shouldn't have been in the road. I was outside in the backyard at the time and the only thing I heard was the yelps of the puppy and the howling by its mother. I kind of just glared at him and he walked away. About a year ago, another one of my dogs was mysteriously poisoned and I spent almost a $1000 in vet. bills before he died. This neighbor also used to have an auto shop and I had him work on an electric system in an older car that I had three years ago. The car was never actually fixed and an auto part that supposed was replaced was never put into the car, although I was charged for it. He has since lost his business, but leeches off of his wife who is a registered nurse. I have had the nagging urge to walk over to his house and beat the living sh!t out of him for the last few days. I'm losing sleep at night and I'm pretty upset about the dogs. I'm affraid that I can't even even risk going next door to even say anything, b/c of what I might do. The man is a thief, a murderer, and a coward. What would you do?

speechless man... my thoughts go out to you... id kill someone if they ever hurt my dogs. i would have paid the fine and kept the dogs and put up a bigger fence so i know they never get off my property.

id call the cops and get this all on paper... who knows how far this can go if he keeps persisting

DONT touch the guy... you'll get in trouble... bc at this point you cant 'prove' any of this.. then you look like the crazy neighbor

The only to avoid future problems is to keep your dogs on your property.

Yeah... I understand your urge to pummel this guy. Is there any way you can keep your dogs in your yard?

I would get even. There are PLENTY of things to do to this guy and/or his belongings without getting caught. But, I would wait awhile... it would seem too obvious if something happened tomorrow.

I'm all about getting even.

That sounds pretty juvenile and won't bring back his dogs.

My fence is four feet high all around. My labs could jump over them at a stand still, so its not like the would stay put, unless they were tied to a tree with a leash(I wouldn't do that). I gave them away to people who will care for them and to avoid any further problems from the neighbor. I could expect this kind of a response if I actually lived in the city, but I live in the country. I reluctantly gave them away, b/c my girlfriend seems to believe that maybe he(the neighbor) is grief stricken, b/c his father in-law, who lived with him, died a week and a half ago. She doesn't want to create any drama, even though I'm all for skull dragging that bastard into the street and running over him repeatedly with my car.

I would probably think revenge but wouldn't go through with it. Too many repercussions.

Yeah... that is the one thing that even angers a person more... knowing your 'hands are tied'. That is a HORRIBLE feeling on top of the tragedy that has already occurred.

Good luck w/ the situation, slow-mun.

Only thing you could have done is try better to keep your dogs on the property. Im not saying your at fault. The guy is a douche, and karma will bite him in the ass for sure, I just hope that you are their to see it, or you at least hear about it.

Agree with everything said above in finding a way to make sure the dogs will not be able to be put in harms way because of this sociopath waste of life (yes I feel very attached to my dog and if anything like this happened I would be going insane.)

However don't do anything physical or leaves the potential to have repercussions on yourself. Instead I would personally walk over (with a close friend who knows the story) and clearly outline how you feel and the consequences that will happen if anything like this ever happens again (and your friend will be there incase he starts instigating sh*t.)

Fighting him won't bring your dogs back and will create a whole extra load of trouble both mentally and with the law.

I feel for you bro, I really do, but best of luck dealing with this jerkoff.

Revenge is for the weak. Everybody already thinks they are a victim, and try to rationalize their actions. Sure my first impulse would be to crush the guys skull in, but to every action is a reaction. If freedom or life have no value. Revenge is your answer.

Well in that case, you'd be doing him a favor if you beat the shi*t out of him.. So def. don't do that...
