For anyone who follows NPC bodybuilding, Erik Fromm was found dead at the age of 36.

I remember seeing him in a Muscle-Tech ad awhile ago.

I know it doesn't say so in the article, but could his death quite possibly be drug-related?

36 is so young. This is so sad.

Steroids?. Sorry you guys know thats what you were thinking. The abuse of steroids in bodybuilding is out of hand...I'm guessing kidney failure!

Believe it or not, lots of bodybuilders are real into party drugs. Pills and powders, etc. Whenever I hear of bodybuilders dying, that's usually what I think of first.

I meant 'drug-related' as in, possibly steroids (heart, or kidney failure, etc.), or maybe even something like cocaine.

This sucks, 36 is pretty young. BBers are also into Nubain and that had Guy Grundy in deep sh!t, it possibly cost him his BBing career.

I know quite a few that are into pain killers and beer to start at a party. The coke comes later.

Yeah Gregg Valentino posted a bunch of stuff in his weird column in Muscular Development about bodybuilders abusing rec. substances.

Here's a kicker though:

He said in the that there was someone that was in the top 5 in the 2006 Mr. Olympia that nearly didn't compete b/c he beat his girlfriend, but scared her to drop charges or else he wouldn't have been there. Anyone want to guess who that was ?

1. Jay Cutler
2. Ronnie Coleman
3. Victor Martinez
4. Dexter Jackson
5. Melvin Anthony

If I had to guess (assuming crazy Greg is telling the truth) I'd go with Vic.

Erik was a great friend

Erik was a wonderful friend-I have been going through all of these websites reading the lies and rumors about him using recreational drugs, meth etc. My husband Tony and I spent many hours and alot of time with Erik and Mica- his fiance- and I can assure you that these rumors are not true. He was a wonderful support system, a positive, energetic, faithful and probably one of the most giving and loving friends that anyone could ask for. He achieved so much in his life and had to deal with the people that are writing these rumors in life and now in death as well. It is very hurtful to those who really knew and loved him. Erik- once again- you were worth your weight in gold. We love you- Tony, Krissy, Maddy and Dakota
