honeymoon ideas

Mrs. Gimpy!

Well-known member
where would you go on a honeymoon.... and how much would that cost.... i like the whole "cruise" idea bc its relaxing....

i wanted to know because me and kwyck are getting married (11 months!!! ) and i wanted to know some honeymoon ideas.

how about sking in Aspen? i think cold weather brings people closer. fireplace, hot coco and snow falling outside.
sounds good to me.

Under 2 grand for a nice cruise for two. Skiing would be nice too but I love the beach and a nice hotel with a week at the beach is what i'd love if I had to choose something besides a cruise.

Congratulations on the marriage. I like the idea of exploring a romantic city together like Prague or Paris.

i want to go out of the U.S and i dont mind spending some good money on our honeymoon...... i was thinking of europe but i dont know if its really that fun...

Caribbean cruises are the easiest to handle, they have been doing it for years and Americans are well tolerated in all of the ports.

I would recommend Costa Rica and Belize. especially the Cayes off the Belize mainland if you like diving or just spending time with some sea creatures!

Congratulations and good luck !!!

I want to visit Australia but Spain or Japan seems like good choices on Honeymoon sites by going off my friend's experiences.

My wife and I really want to go to Greece. I want to go to one of the Asian countries, China being my first pick.

Mrs Crunch has already been all over Europe and lived in France for a year. So we kind of want to go someplace neither of us has been to.

Congrats to the two of you as well!

thanks for all the congratulations, this wedding has been a long time waiting (it'll be 6 years by the time we tie the knot).

my so far top interests are:
panama canal and belize areas
europe cruise (spain, france, greece, etc...)
australia

the thing that's the hardest about all of this is that kwyck will be in medical school when we go on the honeymoon so the best time to go (so we dont conflict with his school schedule) would be in january. i want to go on a honeymoon for at least 10 nights

Go to Australia. Somewhere like Byron Bay, you can surf, skydive, dive at the reef.

I was all over Australia this Spring and it was a blast. I like Perth best, but if you're looking for pure fun, stick to the east :)

Congrats too :D

If you're going to go someplace in Europe, try to get it for a couple weeks. There's just soooo much to see, plus the days you two don't leave the hotel room...nudge, nudge.

For Greece, we looked into renting an apartment/condo for a couple weeks. Cheaper than a hotel, and you can cook some of your own food so you're not eating out at every single meal, and that adds up the most.

My wife and I did the Disney thing, but we are two Disney freaks. However, I went to London on my own when I was about 21 and bummed around for a few weeks. It is certainly a great honeymoon choice, it is actually where my parents went

I think Australia would be a great romantic place to go! You get to have romance and fun there!

I want to go there someday *hint hint* Chad!

A cruise would be awesome if you dont get sea sick. Those can get expensive though because they tell you your price is for everything, reading between the lines, you only pay for alcohal and thats where you spend the big money if you like the drink. That's the only problems i ever heard of from cruises! I want a honeymoon! Now I'm Jealous!

If you aren't too worried about spending on the honeymoon do what my wife and i did go to hawaii. I know alot of people think hawaii for a honeymoon is "cliche," but it was by far my favorite trip and the scenery is nothing short of amazing......outside of the horribley long plane ride for us it was well worth the wait. I think we did 9 days on 3 different islands(oahu, maui and kaui) for somewhere around $3500-$4000.....of course that didn't include food or drinks, but if your gonna do it once go all out b/c it's worth every penny!

I got married the first time at 23 and was poor. We went to San Diego for a weekend.

Second wedding (don't even say it) we went up north in AZ to Prescott for the weekend.

I have never been on a great honeymoon nor a great alone vacation with either wives (I had a 1yo when I first got married).

I saw the animated movie Ratatouillie with my 5yo daughter and my wife. Now I want to go to Paris. My daughter is so good, well behaved and a romantic like me, I would even consider taking her with us.

My vote is Paris.

money is not a problem at all, but hawaii, though much more beautiful than where i live daily, did not impress me too much when i went there (been there about 5 times). i've found that florida has better water than hawaii's (hawaii's was not as warm as i like it) but hawaii had amazing air quality.

so far, i've love, LOVED costa rica when it comes to exploring the tropics, that's why im considering taking a honeymoon there since kwyck has never been there, or on any real vacation for the matter...

but europe is very intriguing to me, but i dont know how it would be to visit there with kwyck's med. school schedule and going there in january.....

san diego... im getting marrried there, but its alittle too local for me.

A honeymoon in January means going someplace where it isn't winter. You need to be thinking close to the equator or in the southern hemisphere.

yeah kinda why im really looking at the panama canal areas..... or carribean (but i dont REALLY want to go there)

Personally, I wouldnt come to Australia for a honeymoon, I would definetly goto europe, I hear Greece is nice. Australia is layed back in a lazy nothing else to do sort of way, a couple I know went to Byron bay and its nothing special, although they did go for a camel ride which I guess is pretty cool. Greece has a nice light life and Europe is just much more romantic in general than anywhere else.

If you guys like exploring and visiting the tropic regions why not try Thailand? or what about New Zealand if your into adrenaline pumping activities?? I'm heading for Australia in about 9 days for a month. I'll let you know what its like if you haven't decided by then.

Congrats to the both of you as well!

superdrol? is that like the willy wonka factory of superdrol candy? i wanna go!!!!

hell ya...me too!!!!!!!:head:

If money isn't such a big issue, I'd say Australia all the way, but not just any part of australia, hit the Great Barrier Reef. I lived a little south of Melbourne for 2 years and our vacation to the great barrier reef was without a doubt amazing. It just doesn't get much better than Australia to me. And since you'd be going in January it'd be the middle of summer down there. Can't ask for better than that!

tahiti - there are cruises you can take to go island hopping, else try staying in an overwater bungalow in moorea or bora bora

or

fiji or cookislands or other south pacific islands

maldives - total seclusion on whichever island/hotel you pick, overwater bungalows as well

mexico - pass

AU - great barrier reef

or how about a safari in africa :)
