New Rule....

Dwight Schrute

I am faster than 80% of all snakes
In my gym they just implemented a new rule which is absolutely absurd. Two years ago they banned tank-tops and starting yesterday they banned cutoff t-shirts. This is a University gym. I'm still sitting here in shock at this.

heh, dont feel bad. at my old gym, we weren't allowed to do deadlifts.

and this was a gym owned by a competing BB'er.

didn't stay there too much longer.

Nope.

I want to ask if business casual is acceptable.

but... cutoff shirts are the best... :( well ain't that a sumbitch... wear Armani next time :)

Hahaha! Robbie Robinson would never even be allowed to work out there. He always wore old torn up tank tops tied together in 4-5 places. :D

ive heard of this type of thing at some of the corporate fitness centers such as at ford or GM. it was supposedly to cut down on sexual harrassment type of stuff. but thats ridiculous for a university to do. at my university gym anything goes as long as you got shoes on:D

Yah... well my gym is now implementing a strict 2-strikes you are OUT policy on dropping dumbells.... i mean... throwin them down is one thing, but it's kinda hard to gently lower the big ones down after say flies, or a press.... Boy am I going to hate enforcing that one :-(

LMAO!  The last gym I worked out at before I started working out at home had all the dumbbells over 80s locked until after 7 PM.  They didn't want any of the hardcores there while the little stairmaster bunnies and crunch masters were there.

For the record though I never had to worry about it. =)

Bobo,
That makes two of us, my gym t shirts are the only thing acceptible, and the sleeves must be in the original condition (uncut)

I think this one is even worse

thats just plain dumb. there's a commercial gym here, originally Q The Sports Club and now a 24 hour that had a "dress code" like this but none of the others do and certainly not the university gym.

you're really kidding, right? and if not what was their reasoning? i'd never even sign up for a place like that...

at my gym at home they banned tank tops and cut off shirts. They say its to keep the equiptment clean and I guess they have a point because it's the largest weight room I've seen in my life. The feminazis like it because it's an "equalizer" of the sexes, whatever that means..the feminazis don't go to the gym anyway. We're allowed to roll our short sleeves up though. They allow us to do it because it's "temporary" and not everyone does it. If you come wearing a tank top they give you a lost and found t shirt.

I'm afraid to ask about female attire......I don't think I own a turtleneck........

I heard it was for the comfort of everyone around because it such a highly used facility and the sanitation factor.
