I usually hit up the stores after the snow season and get the past seasons stuff since the technology does not dramatically change...anyways...here's some online stores to check:

It's best to talk to someone knowledgeable about the gear before buying.

You won't need composite cores, or new serrated edges being a newbie.

Just get a board suitable to your height, know your stance, get some quality boots, bindings... warm gear and go with someone who can teach you, or get instructions.

It's really best if you knew someone personally who knows their sh1t.
