Crank: The film that refuses to slow down

  1. Thumbs up Crank: The film that refuses to slow down

Saw it on Saturday with the gf - worth every penny spent. Heck even she enjoyed it, and she ain't a huge action movie fan.

Only goes on 1 speed: light speed.

The very last shot was a bit silly, but made the audience smile/giggle.

In closing, had the urge to highspeed wrecklessly on the way home.

    Great end of summer flick!

  2. awesome. i was hoping it was as good as the previews made it out to be. thanks for the review.

  3. NP..

Just to add, if you didn't like the "Transporter" movies (esp Transporter 2) - you'll totally dig this one...and if you enjoyed the "Transporter" movies, you'll love this one.

As one of my friends described it - "It's 'Dead on Arrival' on LSD and speed."

  4. He|| yea brother preach it. Sex, action, and some comical violence.

I love the style of the movie as a whole, and your friend is right it is like Dead on Arrival + Transporter on Crack. My ribs were hurtin I was laughin' so hard during the asian tourist scene.

Jason Statham just nailed the role down, he was born to play it. It's not a profound movie by any means, but it has a collage of style and runs with it the whole movie, never slowing down.

  5. I've been a big fan of his since "Snatch" and "Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels". He really fits these high action roles hes been doing lately.

  6. i'm a big jason statham fan. he's always had good role.. will admit that transporter and transporter 2 each had their own scenes that were unrealistic.. but good action movies, i mean it is fiction, rite? can't wait to see crank. thanks for the review!
"A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner: Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time. When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, The one I feed the most." -George Bernard Shaw

Two great movies! JS isn't in it, but if you enjoyed those you'll like Boondock Saints as well.

I just saw on IMDB that Handsome Rob will back. The Brazilian Job is currently in production and due out for release in 2008.

  8. Rented this last week. It was fun. Even the wife enjoyed it.

  9. Rented it a few weeks ago. Great movie. I also like the Transporter movies. I hope he makes more action movies soon.

  10. Nice to hear. I have been wanting to rent this, but haven't yet. Maybe I'll pick this up this week sometime.

  11. Just finished watching it. At the start of the movie I was feeling kinda of groggy. Now I'm WIDE awake Was a pretty funny action movie.

  12. I work two jobs and often squeeze my movie watching in during the wee hours of the morning. Most times I watch one half of a movie one night and save the second half for the next night because I'm so short on time........not this movie.....couldn't stop it! It is a roller coaster! Went to bed @ 2:30 in the morning that night! Totally worth it!
