your favorite avi editor?

While at the driving range last weekend, my wife took a video of my golf swing, but the avi file turned out to be 12.5 MB because she didn't know I'd take so many practice swings. (I didn't realize she was filming.)

Anyway, I'm looking for a free avi editor that can can simply chop off the extra crap. If nothing free exists, please let me know your favorite avi editor.
