Found this on another board. The first part of the video is short but kick ass.

Most impressive! He has always been one of the leaner strongmen, hasn't he? I had a bit of difficulty hearing his exact words in the video, but I know he was talking about kilo numbers. Would you happen to know how many pounds his last squat was? Even without know, it was obviously damn heavy, no more room left on the bar to add anymore weights hehe

Yeah he's built like a bodybuilder almost. Watching the guy compete is amazing. He makes the events look so easy. As for how much weight he's squatting, I believe it is a metric shitload.:D

Awesome form and kick ass videos. Enjoyed them both!I may try going that low on my next workout.

I think he said the last set was over 800lbs.

Nice link!

Did you see how his knees go to his shoulders on the leg press?

YIKES!

guy is a freak...he's definatly got some more strongman wins in his future. Probably the greatest strongman of this generation by far.

If I am hearing him right 310kilo on the last set. Anybody want to tell him thats 700lbs not 800 like he said!:run:

No,

I believe it is TWO shitloads.

Quick questions... Is it necessary to go that low when squating to develop good quads? I personally go parallel or just a little under it. Also, for definition in quads, is also the same thing with abs meaning your bf needs ot be low for definition?

As far as depth, there are a wide variety of opinions, but I believe in going as low as possible while maintaining good form. As long as you're going to parallel or just past, you're getting the full benefit from squats. As for the definition, yeah diet is key but you also have to have developed the muscle sufficiently as well.

Thanks JH for the feedback. I kind of figured the whole definition would depend on diet and how well the muscle is developed. I've been reading posts on these boards and it seems that most users like to use high reps for legs. I am giving that a shot right now and it has worked pretty well. Going that low(as the guy did on the video) with high rep range, would be insane. Least to say, a spotter may be needed.

I believe in going ass to grass as well..as long as your knees and hips are handling it. I just feel it's so much more of a workout than going parallel that there has to be benefit at least in terms of increased muscle fiber recruitment, time under tension and range of motion under load.

I believe that Mariusz is making one mistake with his form...bouncing at the bottom of the movement. Maybe he can handle it but I picture something terrible happening if I tried that.

Saw him win the ESPN Strongest Man competition and he looked much larger than this video..although you can easily see how much more pumped he is by the end of the video than when it begins.

I think he'd make an awesome replacement for Arnold as Conan..just give him a wig and sword. lol
