Very cool stuff! I'm gonna have to do some reading up. During my one year of Grad School I majored in Analytical Chem with a special interest in instrumental analysis. Tested at the Ph.D. level during their placement exams, so didn't have to/couldn't take the most interesting courses. The one Faculty member who was working on anything interesting to me had a glut of students already, and told me he wasn't looking for more at the time, but I could put my name on the waiting list and maybe in a year or so... I was bored outta my gourd and had just gotten engaged, so I dropped out.
