25 years ago today marks the loss of one of the greatest talents to ever bless our planet. It also marks the 1 year anniversary of the death of one of the most influential guitar players to pick up the instrument.
The world is a fucked up place. R.I.P. John and Darrell.

i dont see anyone making threads like this for people like Washington, Jefferson, Adams and Churchill. or someone like Patton and Eisenhower.

not like they were influential in anyway...

.

But none of the aforementioned died of assassination. I agree that on the grand scale of the world the Jefferson and Churchill had more impact, but at least a maniacal "fan" did not end their life prematurely.

i suppose, but i dont think the original poster made this thread because the guy was murdered. and lets not forget how many, much more important, people have been murdered over the year.

but i do get your point.

Darrell Abbott and the music he created had a much bigger impact on my life then any of any of the men you metioned. While I respect and aknowledge the sacrifices they made and great deeds they contributed to our society - I broke my squat record listening to Walk, not reading the Declaration of Independance.

true but you might be listening to Walk if any of the above mentioned individuals hadn't impacted your life..

No doubt about that, and dont think I dont love them for it. But for me, personally, when I think of someone's whose death I lament, Dimebag comes to mind immediately. Im guitarist and huge metal fan, so of course that's why - the guy is/was a huge influence on my playing and all modern metal in general.

Pioneer's inital post made it sound like his life wasnt as noteworthy as Jefferson, Washington, etc. In the grand scheme of things, it probably isnt. I my little microcosm of a life, it most definitely is:(

RIP Dimebag
RIP Lennon
RIP Washington
RIP Jefferson
RIP Franklin

:D

Yes but you probably wouldn't be squatting if it wasn't for Washington, Jefferson, and Adams. You would be speaking in a girly English accent and drinking tea with your pinky up instead of going to the gym. lol

Tell that to Dorian Yates bro!:D

Also that's a hell of a dichotomy............. John Lennon and Dimebag.

Not really, they were both huge influences on their respective musical genres, and will continue to be so for generations to come.
