This author says he has replaced trigonometric functions such as sin, cos, and tan, which he says are based off arc length estimates and has devised away for easy, precise ways to explain right angled triangles! Looks very interesting if your an intellectual as myself ;).
 
Bah.

Just another way for today's kids to be lazy and not learn math. Trig is not hard.
 
No trig in my opinion is one of the easier maths and it is also by far my favorite. The interesting part about it is the fact that it is revolutionary this day in age to progress such basic concepts in mathematics such as cos, sin, and tan. Due to the fact that they are estimates and now there are formulas that allow for exact measurements in triangles. And when it is easier than the old way it makes it that much more revolutionary!

Sin=Opp/Hyp, Cos=Adj/Hyp, Tan=Opp/Adj

I had an interesting trig teacher.

Wow...good news....i hate trig....soh cah toa is nice and easy, but when i start having to remember some of the nasty trig identities, its just fucked up :sick:
