Lance Armstrong's record setting seventh Tour de France victory, along with his entire Tour de France legacy, may be tarnished by what could turn out to be one of the greatest sports scandals of all time. Armstrong is being quizzed by French police after three banned substances were found in his South France hotel room while on vacation after winning the 2005 Tour de France.

The three substances found were toothpaste, deodorant, and soap which have been banned by French authorities for over 75 years.

Armstrong's girlfriend, American rocker Sheryl Crowe, is quoted as saying "We use them every day in America, so we naturally thought they'd be ok throughout Europe."

Along with these three banned substances, French authorities also physically searched Armstrong and found several other interesting items that they had never seen before, including a backbone and a testicle.

I love how Lance made no qualms about it... if he returns for a shot at an eighth title, it would be pretty much just to 'stick it' to the French.

I think he just found some motivation.

Still, a part of me wishes he would just stay retired. Seems no one does that anymore. I don't know what winning 8 could possibly prove that winning 7 did not... but it's his call of course... LANCE IS THE MAN!
 
i had to work with a frenchie who did not like to shower or use deodorant. we would have to test in a vehicle together in the summer time and he never wanted to use the AC. what a horrible stench....

i think he's taking a risk going for 8. yeah, he's the man, but if he fucks up somewhere on the tour de france and doesn't win, you know how the media will jump on that.

When I first started reading this post I was like what the hell is he talking about. And as I continued I couldn’t stop laughing.

I agree with you on him trying for an eighth one. If he in any way screws up they will chew him up.
