Who carries concealed here? What's your carry weapon and preferred method of carry?

I've gotta S&W Bodyguard .380 with a inside the waist band holster. I wanted a S&W M&P Shield .40 but I got a good deal on the Bodyguard.

Anybody recommend a good concealed holster?

I dont live somewhere that requires me to walk around with a gun. Maybe you should think about changing locations..unless of course you're just trying to be a tough guy or something lol...which I'm assuming you're not

It is more about having the gun and not needing it than needing it and not having it! Too many people pissed at the world and if they decide to play shoot em up when im around ill be ready.

I carry 90% of the time in my home town and 100% of the time away from home. Kimber 1911 TLE2 .45 cal w/ a Mitch Rosen jn waist band holster.

I don't take the trash out without carrying even. Its my constitutional right. I live in a nice location with no expectations of being mugged or harmed, but that doesn't mean it can't happen. There's crazies out there, doesnt matter how nice of an area you live in. Why do I carry concealed? Self defense and the defense of others. When will I need to exercise that right? Who knows!? So that's why if you carry, you always carry. You do or don't, it's not up to me to decide when the time will be that some crazy **** lights up a grocery store. There's plenty of situations in recent news that could have been prevented with a responsible armed citizen. It's not paranoia, it's common sense if you're an individual that carries. In no way do I look differently at someone that doesn't carry, but it's my choice. I'm never afraid or paranoid, and I never expect to actually use it. It's a right that my country has offered me, that I'm exercising, that I don't want to regret one day not having it. I exercise gun safety, self control and responsibility and hardly notice it's even on me it's so small.

I want to keep this thread in line with my original post. I respect what you all think and your right to voice your opinion and not carry, and I don't mind discussing it at all. I can go all day long-but if that's the case then I'll start a gun rights thread in the politics section.

That's a pretty gnarly gun to be tucking into your waist! The gun shop near me doesn't have too much for 1911's. I've found a serpa concealed holster I plan on getting though once I find a 1911

your duty gun is a XD? thats pretty cool That is on my short list of firearms i would want to get (in 45ACP or a INOX Beretta) when I have the time to properly train, and of course my wife is cool with it.

for all intents and purposes - there is no CC in my state. But if I was in one I would look at it as leaving the house with my wallet keys or phone :)

nah, who needs a permit
The 2nd amendment is my Permit.

I don't conceal my weapon. I openly walk around with my M4 Carbine, not the best weapon system when gas operated but it shoots fine.

Surprised to see one of those mentioned. I have one in .40 cal, first pistol I ever bought and I was a broke college kid. It's a nice pistol and feels great but I've had just enough issues not to carry it.

Are you saying you've had issues with the gun? If so, what kind? And is yours all steel?

I'm taking the class to get my CHL in January and can't wait. I'm looking to get another SIG as a CC weapon. In reviewing some if the threads I am really glad I live in TX, where its common place for folks to carry concealed.

It's hard to imagine living in a state where you can't exercise a constitutional right. I'm not trying to take over the thread, but its something that should be openly discussed and laws changed so that we can actually exercise that right!

I'd rather be a survivor, than a victim.

SiG is a solid gun but like mentioned before it has a fairly heavy trigger pull

I agree, but I like that in a firearm. Less likely to have accidents, IMO, and once you're used to it, your aim doesn't suffer.

I have heard a lot of good things about Springfield, so I may check out the XDM.

Mine is the polymer version. And by issues I mean Mainly failure to feed, using factory mags and quality ammo.

I used the gun in a defensive pistol class where we fired about 1,300 rounds in three days. had issues the first day but after soaking it in oil the issues went away for the most part.

Now it still hiccups and I havnt had the time to figure it out, but lots of oil didn't help this time.
It sucks because I really like the gun. Fits my hand well and for the price it is pretty accurate.

Hate to hear that man, mine is the steel version and its been nothing but amazing. Put plenty of cheap and expensive ammo and nvr had any problems

How many rounds you have thru it? I'm sitting somewhere around 5k, may or may not have something to do with it. It's still a very fun gun and I still shoot it, I just don't trust it to carry it. That's what my Glocks are for.

Don't know exactly how many rounds but under 3,000. I shot a Glock for the first time the other day and was very impressed by it

I switch between my Kel Tec PF9 and Glock 26. The PF9 is the perfect carry option down here in Florida during the summer. I've grown to really like the Crossbreed Super Tuck holster; which is what I currently use now.

Regardless of which gun it is, I carry as much as I possibly can.
