Help me choose a car

Hey everybody, I'm far from rich but I'm doing pretty good financially right now and figured I'd look into getting a new(New for me, doesn't have to be new new) car soon. I'm looking to keep the price ceiling at ~$25,000 but if there's something a little over I could be convinced.

Details
I'd like for it to be a relatively fast car. I'm a bachelor so I don't have to worry about having a roomy luxury car to drive kids around, so a coupe is fine. The car can be used, that should add a lot to the selection. I'm currently considering the Subaru BRZ.

DO NOT waste your money on a new car. It'll lose a quarter of its value the second you drive it off the lot. Especially with luxury cars, the bottom falls out of the price very quickly. Find a used car that is a few years old, has been babied, and has 30-35k miles. It'll still feel like a new car and will last as long as you want it to.

As for cars in that range, you should class it up a bit over the Subaru. If you want a VERY fast and VERY rare car, check the BMW Z4 M Coupe:

Small car + 333 HP = ridiculous fun. Plus, it was at the end of the engine's production run, so all the kinks had been worked out. It was only made from 2006-2008. It'll come in a bit over your budget, but not by much if you look around.

You may also be able to find a 2006-2008 Audi S4 in your range if you look around. 340 HP V8 + All Wheel Drive:

Good choices, I'm looking them up now. What's your opinion on Infiniti? There's a '08 Infiniti G37 Sport at a Carmax(Favorite place to buy a car from) near me.

I second the g35 or s4...

I had a 350z with borla exhaust and loved every minute of it. I was a college kid and live in IL with no other vehicle for the snow, unfortunately...had to sell it.

back to an 05 rsx type s for my daily

If I go back to Ohio, I'll want an Acura I think or an AWD Audi.

I was also going to say, a 2008 VW R32 is another great contender in this range. I have been looking at them with my g/f. You'll find that they are exactly in your current price range and they have every option that luxury vehicles have -- dual climate, awesome leather sport seats, heated seats, navigation, ipod hookups, and most importantly all wheel drive and 250 hp.

It really is a great little car and doesn't feel so little inside. I highly suggest you at least take one for a test drive:

i have so many problems with german cars, my mk2 gti vr6 had a ton of problems, audi a4 developed a knock and bad valve guides with low miles...so far to date the best vehicle is my 07 sorento ex, zero problems! srt4 caught on fire by electrical failure, 350z was okay but no room, all my mr2 turbos were great vehicles but my non turbo sucked balls, and lastly i had a 4 cyl mustang fbody that had over 200k and was still kickin

Heh, I won't argue that the German cars aren't more finicky. You definitely have to stay on top of maintenance with them. I had a 93 Honda Prelude FOREVER. It burned oil, but kept on kickin so long as I put more oil in. It was a tank... until I forgot to put oil in on one road trip... My Audi A4 has been really solid though. I don't maintain it like I should, and there are certainly issues that need to be repaired, but the engine is solid and hasn't given me any trouble at all. In fact, I'd say the engine is more solid than my Prelude's engine was. The rest of the car I'm not so sure about.

Japanese before German, if u want to go German get a Benz, Audi/VW has to many problems. BMW is good.
Never buy American unless u want to be on a personal relearionship with ur mechanic.

Accura or Infiniti - sick , fast, reliable

My uncle has a Nissan maxima with over 300k. Nissan and Infiniti are the same. My cuz has an Infiniti Jeep forget the model. Its the sports suv with about 200k.
If u do the basic mantanance and keep up with oil changes. They last forever. And they never had to pay for repairs out side mantanace.

If u get it used u still take a risk, but new cars are a rip off.

So if u get it used u might run into a big repair. But it wont be one of those things were ur in and out the shop every month. Once its fixed its fixed!
