why is that funny? With the scrutiny that was bound to come his way, he did the most logical thing in this situation.... which i guess is pretty sad.

Why did he marry twice and father children by two different women if he is gay?

Fact is, he's not gay, he's using the gay excuse for having no will power. I'm sure tax payers love paying for their leaders to engage in secretive infidelity.

There is also talk that some guy is accusing him of sexual harassment and possibly rape. It was going to come out any way so he beat them to the punch. Now they can spin this to what a cruel world this is he had resign because he is gay. Sorry but there are gay congressmen , senators ect. He was going to have to go to court and this was going to come out any ways.

They already are. Someone was on TV last night saying we have a long way to go for tolerating gays.

Yep...tolerating a public official for fucking other men on the job while married with children.

This has nothing to do with being gay. It has everything to do with people taking responsibilitiy for their actions and not using some "I can't control myself" excuse.

I don't think advocacy groups represent the bulk of any population, to be honest. **** GLAD if they're trying to spin this into "feel sorry for the guy."

Whatever happened to being an adult and learning to control yourself?

It has more to do with being hauled into court with assault, sexual harassment chargers, and possibly rape. I think it's a civil case rather than a criminal one. That's why he resigned.

"It is kind of stunning, sad to me that in 2004 people are still having to struggle because of homophobia in society to come to terms with who they are," said Kevin Cathcart, executive director of Lambda Legal.

My God--GAY MEN DON'T GET MARRIED TO WOMEN TWICE OVER AND HAVE KIDS...IF THEY DO, THEY'RE NOT GAY, THEY'RE SERIOSLY MENTALLY FUCKED UP!!!

Kevin Cathcart can blame this on society being homophobic? Uh...this "society" almost impeached a PRESIDENT (which would have been horrible) for a vanilla affair...this guy is guilty of a LOT WORSE! It's not homophobia, it's called morality and ethics.

So why is GLAD involved?

What the hell?
because they put their hand in everything and anything that has anything to do with homosexuality, and how they are being treated unfairly

Like you and VG said, this is (or at least should be blatantly obvious to GLAD) more about adultery and possible charges, not discrimination.

actually i think there is more to his resignment than just being gay. A lot of the people around him are going to jail for all kinds of corruption so I think it was an easier way out then having to resign for being involved in illegal activities. I'm from jersey and Mcgreevey is a piece of **** either way so I'm happy hes gone :drunk:

I don't care if he's gay. I don't care if he cheated on his wife. He could have had a bisexual romp with seven midgets in an S&M club and starred in some German Schisse porn for all I care.

What I DO care about is that he put his lover in charge of Homeland Security for the state of New Jersey, the state I live in. The guy had ZERO qualifications for the job, and it is an extremely important role for someone to fill. To add to that, he flat out sucked as a governor. I knew I wasn't going to vote for him the moment he tried to screw over all the pharma companies with that stupid proposed "prefered prescription drug list."

Tell me, if you are a governor of a state that is home to more pharmaceutical companies than any other state, is it a wise idea to screw over those pharma companies? Keep in mind that not only are you getting insane amounts of tax revenue from those companies, those companies employ tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people. Add to that the fact that those companies bring a whole crapload of business to the state and you have what economists refer to as a "key industry". You don't mess with key industries unless it's to make them happier.

Yeah, I just get upset when groups like GLAD and others use everything as a springboard for their agenda.

All it does is polarize issues instead of create unity, and worse, people come to identify minorities with the groups that "represent" them.

I read about all the screwy corruption going on--the worst was the judge they tried to buy off by filming him in a compromising situation with a prostitute they hired, and then sending the tape to his wife to attempt to black ball him.

Wouldn't it be hillariously tragic if in fact he's NOT gay, and there was no affair, but this is what the MOB or someone forced him to do!

Thanks Null. I was going to add that point as well. There is yet another reason for him to resign for another reason other than being gay. The guy was corrupt. He is trying to get out a head of this so they can spin this into him being the gay victom.

That what GLAD does. If more people knew what GLAD's agenda was, I think they would be forced to disappear. They want to teach kindergarteners about homosexuality. They frequently have young kids role play being a gay couple. There was a big scandal in this state being they were teaching kids about fisting it was billed as a health education retreat.

I wouldn't be surprised. The more that we learn about this guy, it wouldn't be too far fetched to believe he would do something like that.
