What is up with the joggers I pass in the morning?

Every once in a while when I pass another runner in the opposite direction they like try to like high five me or something. And they all do it with this awkward 90 degree Nazi salute looking gesture. Is this some brotherhood of joggers thing? Why are total strangers trying to high five me?

Old CJ Wrangler folks waive at eachother.
Saab people waive at Saab people.
Bikers nearly ALWAYS waive at other bikers.

I don't understand cardio people at all. :nutkick:

I'm a morning runner...I don't wave at anybody I don't already know.
I'm also a motorcyclist that doesn't wave...
I guess I don't "get it" either.

So it was YOU, eh? Fine, I'm not waiving at you anymore either. :(

The high five thing seems odd. I can understand a wave, or a nod, but to actually make an attempt to have hand to hand contact during a jog is a bit odd.

I get the two-finger steering wheel, "what's up," wave from other Jeep drivers, but a high five while I am running... no. I may slap on a flying arm-bar if someone did raise their arm while running toward me, though. That would be fun… for me.

See if you have an influential enough personality to start a new craze.

When you run past them slap them on the ass or give them the Team America secret signal!

nothing says good morning jogger like a firm open palm slap on the ass

YUH!!!!

fu**in A bro, slap em on the ass when they pass by, thats sportsmanship lmao. i always wave or even sometimes pound to another biker. gotta do it

I just hold both fists out in font of me and run into as many people as I can while I make racecar noises in my head
