So I walked into a Planet Nutrition today that just opened its doors here in Baton Rogue a few days ago.. I'm always curious to see what they have to off here locally & see what the sales people know..

GOOD GOD!!! $50. for a tub of Jack3d?? $90 for a bottle of Pink Magic?? $20. for a bottle of Primaforce Yohimbine?? WTF???

This dude also had very little knowledge of PH's.. He tells me he can get me all the good PH's in the store that I won't be able to find online. I asked him about a few popular ones (M-Drol, H-drol, Hell, even Superdrol!!) Yeah, he hadn't heard of any of those... Again - WTF???

How can one person own a supplement store & not know anything about some of this stuff?? He said Jack3d is a joke & tried to push some off brand I never heard of... Just like they do @ the other stores. I guess they get some sort of commission off of certain supps..

Oh, well, just had to rant...
 
ya, it's a shame.. most of those main stream supp stores employees have very limited knowledge...they seem to know the front runner brands of BSN, Muscletech, Gaspari, VPX etc. and very little, if anything about the other lesser known companies with awesome products... i don't even bother going into the stores unless it's an absolute nescesity..

Oh, believe me, Nutra knows me well... lol!!

I guess I expect a lack on knowledge from the GNC guys, but for some reason expected a little more from some swole up dude running Planet Nutrition...
 
yeah, the chain store guys are ****ing morons. i applied to work at GNC in college just to earn some money, and it was close to school. i was told i wasn't hired because the district manager thought i would have his job in 6 months....which is probably true.

they really are dumb most of them. i love the classic line, i use it and look at me. i was in there with my dad one time and im 23 and hes only like 20 years older than me, and the guy tried selling him i think it was some crappy muscletech supplement (crappy and muscletech are interchangeable IMO), and he gave the line look i use it, it's awesome. now he was about maybe 5'4 230 lbs of jsut flab, like an oompa loompa. and my dad looks him up and down and goes "buddy, the last person i want to take advice on supplements and training is from u".

but neways, i either stick to an online store, usually about half the price with shipping than in store. i will say though that there are 2 really good privately owned stores in the area that have very comparable prices to online retailers. one of them, you can tell sold juice out the back, back in the day. and probably still does. its in a seedy part of town and the store is a converted old house...nice guy though.
 
haha all these ppl you guys are describing sound just like a guy who runs a max muscle near my house and the guy who runs the gym in the building i work at, both tools, they are like 6'5 and have put in work so yeah they are pretty big, but they are always shoveling out a load of crap

both of them remind me of that guy in dodge bInvalid Link Removedall who owns the cobra gym or whatever

It always surprises me when I go into some of the local stores here and look for products from companies I trust... if you are lucky there are a few from LG, AI, Controlled Labs and of course USP Labs. After that though, it is spotty and everything is overpriced. I one time attempted to have an intelligent conversation with the manager of the Vitamin Shoppe by my work, what a joke. The subject was Pink Magic and he thought he was an expert. Hey D Bag, I was one of the original testers, I know just a wee bit more than you about how I will respond to it. Anyways, end rant, I could go on for days but my fingers have better things to do.

That's funny! The same thing happened to me when I was there the other day!! I told him I've tested a hand-full of products for USP Labs & he didn't know what to say. I just kind of laughed & told him that he should read up more on the Pink..
