    yearly supplement cost

I'm getting ready to file my taxes tonight and I'm wondering if anyone else has added up their yearly supplement expenditures? Mine for 2009 was $2100.00. looking at that now i realize something, i spend way too dahm much on these f***ing things. from now on it's whey, multi, fish oil, liver aid (when needed), hawthorn berry (when needed), and pre w/o booster and that's about it.

I was around $900 with supplies for a few cycles.

Whey and protein supplements are, generally, cheaper than whole food. Generic powders and vitamins with proven benefits (Green tea, vit D, Fish Oil, the occasional zinc) are pretty cheap.

It's the designer supplements that kill you in price/performance. I'd rather spend $150 on a DS cycle than $30 on a few supplements that "definitely made my muscles harder and fuller" (while producing no body weight or strength changes.

ive had to remortgage the house!!taken up busking, and thought about selling my body .I have a carboot sale every sunday and sell things on ebay!
Joking apart Its good idea to try to restrict yourself but when you reach a plateau , its possible that something else might just give you the edge.so off you go again

I spent alot at one time...now I have realized, multivitamin, protein shake(limiting to 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off....personal experiment you could say. Replacing it with fish/chicken intake.), and lotsa liquid fish oil!!!

Also I am looking into using green tea gels throughout the day for that amazing mood it puts me in, since I cant always have me a nice cup of honey lemon ginseng green tea....ooo brb putting the kettle on.

Yeah...I think its going to be an "occasional" sale grab up thing from now on. Unless there is a specific product I really want to try.I havent bought a supplement in....7-8 months? Dont plan to for another 4, so this year I am looking at maybe $50 for the year ^.^

EDIT: LOL, I just seen your third vote option...epic win.

Well, I'll put it this way: The ph/ds ban didn't help my wallet much this past year. But it might pay off later

I think as well as you get more into this, you realise after trying everything thats out there, that a lot of supplements despite their claims , just dont deliver. Asupplement is nearly always surrounded by hype , making the wildest claims. How often have we secumbbed to this and bought the product only to be disappointed at the end.
i would say in the main , that supplement companies do their marketting aimed at the beginner , somebody who is a little naive and wants results not today but yesterday.ie impatient.

Only time and experience and knowledge make us realise that supplements are not all that they are made out to be, and we begin to sift them out .Eventually hitting on something thats rock solid but those are few and far between.

I have a 5lb tub of whey that usually lasts me a good 6 months or more (I rarely use more than 1 scoop in some water or milk post workout only and sometimes 1 scoop rarely preworkout when I have time), and a multivitamin, and vitamin c. That's it. So, less than $100 a year.

Yeah... I don't think I've ever bought anything at ***... mainly because their prices made me LOL, and because I have always bought my protein online (first through deals I came across on Slickdeals, then through reps here on AM).

Keeping supplement costs down to 2 dollars a day, is almost impossible, once you know whats working.
