When I was 13 I noticed that I had a hard lump under both of my nipples, and had it to about 15-16 but never told anyone. It hurt sometimes but I just went on with my life. I later found out that it is called gynecomastia. My brother now has it, he is 13 and got it check out and the dr. said it was normal. But what I want to know is does that mean that you have a higher than normal estrogen level that is causing that? That is the only reason i can think of that happening, or what else can it be?

I think during teen years your hormones are jumping all over the place. Could be that he has too much testosterone, that converts to estrogen. But, I am not a doctor, nor a specialist in that field...

the lump is usually just the gland. if you are extremely lean and have puffy nipples.. then its prob gyno.

a small bump is typically nothing to worry about

Sounds similar to something I had as an early teen, it went away on its own thankfully!

Had it for about a year in both nipples when I was thirteen. Extremely painful lumps. Went away. During adolescence, you really just gotta wait everything out until late teens/early 20's before considering any sort of procedure. Lots of stuff clears on its own.
