I hated when they walked Bonds all the time.
However, it's the opposing managers job to win the game, not to entertain the fans and lose.
If Pujols gets walked a lot his average will stay high.
Bonds's average was .370 and .362 when he was walked 198 and 232 times respectively. Had he not been walked that much there's no way he would've finished with that average.
I might as well be the first one to report on this. Mark Buehrle threw a perfect game against the Rays today. 27 hitters up, 27 hitters down. No walks, no hits, no runs.....perfect.
F*ck Mark Buehrle. I'll grant him that it's a historic event which rarely happens and is considered a crown jewel of a pitcher's career. However, I hate the Sh!te Sox and I hate their manager and I hate what they stand for. They're whole team is a bunch of thugs and their fans are thugs too.
There's no sour grapes here because it was against the Rays. Their offense just took a diarrhea today. Total butt-piss. They should've been able to get something off Buehrle because he's really NOT all that good. But today he was perfect.
I'd take a guy like Buerhle anyday. Dude gives you 200+ innings every year, is 42 games over .500 for his career with a lifetime ERA of 3.78. 10 seasons played, 9 of them with a winning record. Not to mention the no-no AND the perfecto. Starting to amass quite the resume.
Buehrle is a pretty solid pitcher... Not an overly dominant guy, but turns in solid season after solid season. I wouldn't mind him on my team.
Buehrle is going to retire in a couple of years. Fam is more important to him.
He could be the last pitcher to make it "near or beyond" 300 wins IMO with his stuff. Workhorse year in and year out, smooth delivery.
