I had this happen when I lived in an old apartment. I basically ended up being screwed because the damn thing was in the very center of the wall, and start making noise as soon and I tried to go to sleep. I feel your pain.

have you thought about picking up those electronic pulse things that plug into the wall? mostly for ants and whatnot but I wouldnt doubt that it will help your prob here as well and you dont even have to kow exactly where it is... or get a smoke bomb and leave the house for a day
