I can't say I agree with the order per say, but Eddie is def up there. Hammett, Ace Frehley, Rhodes, Stevie Ray, Hetfield, Zakk Wylde are faves of mine.

I dont see Jerry Garcia on there either. How credible can that list be? Sounds more like a popularity contest than an objective skills based list. JMO

Why is Page 6th? No slam at Eddie but he should be behind Hendrix.

I hate to admit it, but this list seems like it was comprised of mostly second rate shredders and leaves out those whose music actually progressed the art of guitar in modern rock.

Technically he is proficient, but his music in not innovative, nor does it sound very good IMHO.

Eddie is certainly great but compared to many other names on the list, he never really progressed/evolved or contributed beyond his limited niche.

No ****. I'd expect to see Clapton higher, and what the hell is Stevie Ray Vaughan doing at 30? I can understand not number one, but I'd expect him to be in the top ten or twenty at the very least. And as much as I love David Gilmour and Pink Floyd, putting him 11th seems odd to say the least. Top twenty perhaps, but I'd push him down a few notches at least.

I in no way endorse the poll or its results. Ed is a has been. His playing has declined considerably. He has produced nothing in far too many years. He was something in his prime but sadly those days are behind me and him both.

Eric Clapton, Al Demeola, and Stevie Ray Vaughn to me are the biggest WTF's on this list. And where is Carlos Santana.

Just based on pure talent alone, SRV should be in the top 3 imo. The guy was absolutely amazing in delivering blues/texas blues as it was meant to be played.

Just listening to SRV's "Lenny" alone demonstrates his great attention to detail and dynamics.

Angus Young at #15? I love AC DC to no end, but you've got to be kidding me......

This was a poll of "favorite" guitarists of guitarists. I don't think they were necessarily saying "best". I am a guitarist and would put Joe Satriani at the top of my list because he is indeed my "favorite" but by no means the best.

I think that's the first list I've seen that actually had rhythm
guitarists in it. Who's ever had a favorite rhythm guitarist?
