I'm not exactly new here... I lurk. A lot.
That being said, I've been wanting to make my own post for awhile, but couldn't think of how to introduce myself (I'm shy). So, I'll start with a Fitness-Changed-My-Life Post... with some photographic proof!
I'm 24 years old, female, and Amazonian. Ok, not quite... but I'm pretty tall and was blessed with a large, muscular frame -- a muscular frame that holds onto fat like a mofo. I have struggled with my weight for my entire adult life, since I hit puberty 12 years ago. My weight was out of control for years, and frankly, I was just tired of being fat and feeling like crap.
About 4 years ago, I had the fortune to meet my (awesome) boyfriend. He's on this forum by the name of Axillist. Anyways, he's always been a gym/health nut, and when we moved in together, I got the kick in the ass that I needed to get into shape. I had already lost about 40ish lbs at that point but felt kinda flabby still. We started going to the gym and my life has been a whirlwind ever since, but it's been a fun ride. I've discovered that my body is capable of all kinds of things, and I went from feeling weak and unhealthy to being able to squat 185 lbs in less than 8 months. I preach about weight training to just about every girl I meet! My personal results have come from building up my muscles more than cardio, but I've worked hard at both.
That's me on the far left, standing with my best girlfriend. I was at my absolute heaviest in that picture and did not feel very good about myself. The middle and right pictures are after about 8 months of seriously hitting the gym whenever I can... I still have a tummy but that's shrinking away nicely. Ignore the vacuum cleaner in the background... not sure who left that out.
Anyways I'm glad to be here, and I'm interested in posting logs. I ran Compound 20 for 2 months pretty recently and wrote a review/log in case any other gals are interested in the results I had.
I play around on Fitocracy as well, which is a really fun site, in case you haven't checked it out yet... it makes logging your workouts much less boring, and it's a bit like Facebook for people who hit the gym!
