Working out after injury

I torqued my right knee yesterday playing tennis. I've been applying ice, and took a couple of ibuprofens(I don't like to take many), and took 6 grams of fish oil last night and this morning. My question is does whole body inflammation hinder the recovery of a specific injury? In other words if I train chest today and my body has the inflammation of that workout to deal with will it slow the healing to my knee?
