gvt good for losing bf?

Finished six weeks of using rippetoes guidelines to get the strength back to par.. took a week off then started gvt... Is Gvt good for increasing mass while decreasing body fat percent.... Doing it natural this time... or is gvt too much volume..?

It can work that way, yes. just takes horribly dedicated diet. I say this from experience, in a 5 week GVT cycle I gained noticeably measurementwise with waist going down and overall weight down too. Forskolin can help with a recomp. Drive has forskolin plus other stuff in it too.

I agree with EasyEJL that it *can* work, but I think there are routines better suited to cutting...


I think GVT is at its best when you are straight bulking :)

I'd use a German Body Comp style instead for cutting/recomp. I'd tailor the rep ranges to the best rep ranges you put muscle on in.

For example if 12 reps kick ass for you adding mass, then use sets of 12 reps.

If sets of 6 kick ass for adding mass for you, then use sets of 6.

Agreed.

But my workout buddy was el natural, just RPM, creatine and a solid surplus diet and he stil gained a few solid lbs without and fat. He has a thyroid problem and takes T4 so maybe not totally clean.

It wasn't 18lbs like me but stil a good amount of LBM (thank you superdrol and TST).

We did GVT for 6 weeks I think. I really liked it.

its nice because you don't need a pad and pencil to remember what you did for a workout

of those 18lbs you put on how much was fat? regardless those are impressive gains in 6 weeks. SD keeps you fairly dry too.

more of like how much was water??? TST & 20gr creatine mono/day bloated me out bad. I'd say probably a few lbs of fat I was eating close to 5,000cals just to feel satisfied. After dropping the TST for about 1.5 weeks my waist was down .5" with increased cals,lol. So yes usually i'd agree with you last time on superdrol I was dry but not this time.

I was referring to German Body Comp, not German Volume Training. The former is for cutting and recomp while the latter is more for bulking.
