How many sets do you hit per body part?

The Best Generally for everyone is pounding your muscle with 3-4 sets with high reps like 15-20 not 10-12 and only about three days of rest is really reccomended in each group before you can pound them again dont forget to "TRICK" your muscles too switch up your work outs

So you think four exercises, four sets is too much for body parts like biceps or chest?

it depends on the group for me...superset arms with 3exercises for 3 sets, so 9 set bis and 9 tris. is that still considered 9 sets or 18 hummm? other than that i say 12 for chest and shoulders, 15+ for back and upwards 20 for legs. i think i need to cut back.

depends on what part of the week I'm in.....
Power I do 4 sets 5 reps
Volume I do 3 sets 12 upper, 3 sets 20 for lower

I only work my body parts 1x per week..... the big 3 (Legs, Back, Chest) I will do 14-18 sets, 3-4 exercises.....small auxillary groups I do 10-12 sets 2-3 exercises...... I only work my muscle groups 1x per week because I am a little older 37 and I need more recovery time than some of the 20yr olds..... this seems to work well for me.

I honestly beleive you need to be at a relatively advanced state for once a week thrashings of each body part to be effective. I see alot of young guys who want to do the Flex mag workout. If you took away drugs and what not most of them would make very little progress over the years. I feel most trainers, beginner to intermediate should be following something that is laid out for stength as well as hypertrophy as the are very closely correlated until you get pretty big to begin with. I may try to lose 20 lbs and do more of a hypertrophy based workout after my meet in october but it will still be a 4 day upper lower split. Probably 5 sets of each upper body part 2x a week and a little more than that for lower since i add posterior in their.

CEL Rep (Z's lacky)
I can't count past 5

I don't usually do more then a 1 set for each goup (sets that I count anyway).
I keep the intensity very high, weight high, and reps lower.

Absolutely. Strong, decisive initial positive, focus on the peak contraction, and focus on a slow smooth negative keeping tension at all times (no rest between reps unless rest-pausing through a potential failure). Every rep. I don't treat any muscle tissue differently (ex. abs).
