One Set To Failure?

I was talking to a PT who seemed pretty savy on all the new workout science and he was mentioning a new workout program that is having amazing results. One set to failure, basically you lift until you can't lift anymore at about 3/4 of your max and then your done.

I'm t:thinking of giving it a try, he was also mentioning there was a study he said recently in a magazine?

Thoughts? Experience?
