| SARCASM: Just one more service I offer. Board Moderator | Health Tip: Save Your Feet From Blisters Taping the area can prevent them (HealthDay News) -- Blisters occur when friction on the skin causes fluid to build up between the skin's layers. They often spring up during strenuous exercise or during use of new equipment, like new shoes. But blisters can be avoided. Even if shoes are new, they shouldn't cause blisters if they fit well, the Web site sportsinjuryclinic.net advises. It suggests taping areas that are prone to blistering, such as the back of the heel. Feet should be kept clean and dry, and socks should be changed regularly. If additional friction drains the blister, it should be immediately cleaned with a sterilizing wipe and covered to prevent further injury and possible infection, the site advises. -- Diana Kohnle |

| TCP™ Puttin' the P back in Pimp Board Moderator | Have to be careful on this since if the tape bunches up it will cause worse blistering as well as the areas outside of the tape will be pressed a bit more and possibly get blistered. I've found that if paying the extra money for shoes to be fitted to your running/walking stride that panty hose put on under your socks can provide a ton of relief. Just get a pair and cut them off about mid way of the calf. It worked wonders on 15+ mile road marches while carrying gear. You will be a greater witness to those who will need you when they are a drift in that sea. "I don't need no one to tell me about heaven, I look at my daughter, and I believe." |
