Better Dubs...

If trying to bring up my legs, would working them out every third day be a bad idea so long as I don't go crazy with volume... say 6 sets total a day?

Your thread sounds like a newbie post

As far as legs, I am liking the dc split with them working them Wednesday, then Monday, then Friday etc...

I don't like it too much. I think twice a week is too much for legs. If you split it up lets say monday quads 8 sets and thursday hams 8 sets you might get some good results that way. My legs grow easy for me though. So I might not be the best person to ask.

YOu could do conjugate split work out, upper body and lower body twice a weak, but not training to failure on your sets as to not stress your CNS too much. Go read up in the EXERCISE SCIENCE section.

It's strange, for me 8 sets a day/week of Hack Squats and my strength increases from a week to week basis while in surplus.

Yet, it does little for overall size.

Recently, my route has consisted of 8 sets (twice a week), 16 total rotating between Hacks, Leg Presses, and Extensions.

Squats are too much of a hassle and there seems to be too much of a weight differential in each leg to make curls beneficial.

My workouts at a glance can be seen in my blog.

QFT..

You gotta figure a way to get them in man... start light or something.

Meat and Potato's of building massive "dubs" to match the rest of the "whip"

I know, but let's take squats outta tha equation...

With what I can do, any suggestions?

Maybe I should try some higher rep schemes for a while and concentrate on greater quad development.

Thing is it's tough finding someone I trust, as well as someone who's totally comfortable with their sexuality.

How about walking lunges with no pause from step to step?

I agree here. These are a great exercise.

I know squatting is out of the equation but try to rethink this Toad. Squatting is the best exercise for overall leg growth. If you can't do them its understandable but if its too much a hassle you might try to reevaluate.

It's a balance thing, that's what screws me over.

I thought about holding on to a walk or something, but then I'd only be able to carry so much.

Even a weighted vest has limitations.

Do you have a physical problem with your legs bro?

Dude thats you !!! I read that on BB.com, and was like damn dude is determined!!! It never clicked... But anyhow I know squats are the meat and potatoes, but leg presses would work out alright for mass. I used to only do leg presses, but my legs grow like weeds, thats all i can suggest.

You suck, I had jokes lined up for responses.

Unfortunately that one didn't quite fit.

Try: "Sorry Jordan...but".

SJA's post.

Oh right.... I read that a while back. I gotcha now.

Ah, I remember reading that now. Way to overcome brother!:)

OK, so you can't do squats. That definitely is limiting to quality leg development BUT, IMHO you're not totally screwed.

You need to shock your legs into growth, really throw something at them that they're not used to and force them to adapt. Some suggestions I can think of off hand:

Leg Press / Hack Squat supersets

LegPress 'Foxsets'

Single Leg Presses

One Leg Squats on the Smith Machine

Hack Squat / SLDL alternating sets

Leg Curl Dropsets,etc

I like walking lunges to, but I ususally save them as a finisher and do them with light weight, or no weight at all. If you're doing a low-rep leg routine now, try going for higher reps and upping the intensity.

Do you switch around your feet placement on the Leg Presses every few weeks? I was doing them shoulder width, toes slightly pointed out for a while. When i switched and went a little narrower (6" between feet) with my feet straight I saw a noticeable difference after ~ 2-3 weeks, rectus femoris noticeably became more pronounced. This is all while maintaining my usual squat form, so it made me deduce that it was the change in leg presses that was the trigger.

I'm a liability waiting to happen... or so they think. ;)

Well you could do squats on the Smith machine. You'll have no balance problems, you can use a vareity of foot placements and you will be able to concentrate on squating weight rather than worrying about your lack of safety.

Well Thank God you don't think I'm totally screwed...

Here I thought I was:

Done.
Toast.
Finished.
Destroyed.
Disassembled.
Stick a fork in me.
Actually if it weren't for you I was gonna give up like tha underwear lint stuck in SJA's ass crack.

In other words, I'll play around some tonight. Thank You.

Good luck with that leg training!

Might I suggest trying SLOW reps for a change, too? Like 5s eccentric, 1s concentric, or 3s/3s, etc.
