Close grip underhand pull downs

I have heard people say these help with, while some say thickness. I think they help the lower/inner back, so thickness I guess. What do you guys think?
 
thickness absolutely,
do them every workout,
havent seen a stack i couldnt max out for repsssss

i normally stick a plate and some bands or something.

i believe that that movement (heavy) has been replaced by curling and shrugging in the power rack.

many people have lagging upper bodys due to the neglect of performing UH heavy pulldowns.
