I've worked the typical 3 days split for a long time. It works well for me so long as I change it up a bit. Recently I also started trying Max-OT within the limits of my weight set. I really liked it.
Of course I only have freeweights (no barbell only dumbbells) so I'm limited both by weight and exercise type. Currently I have enough weight to put 55lbs on each dumbell, which is plenty except for squat and db press. In which case I substitute with med to high reps.
But, I am now getting a divorce and I have 2 kids. So I can only really work out on days they are with their mother.
As it is, a typical 2 weeks works out like this:
Sun: no kids
Mon: kids
Tue: kids
Wed: kids
thur: no kids
fri: no kids
Sat: kids
Sun: kids
Mon: no kids
tues: no kids
weds: no kids
thr: kids
Fri: kids
Sat: no kids
repeat
So, I can't do a 3 day split, plus on Tues/Thrus that I do not have the kids I am in Hapkido, so I can't lift then either.
I was considering just doing a Chest/tri and Back/bi split. So every day that I can I do one or the other.
Good idea or bad idea? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.
