Hey AM,
So I've been doing Bill Starr's 5x5 for about 5 months now and I'm really wanting to start up some sled and sandbag work without over training.

Monday:
sqaut, bench, row
Wednesday:
light squat (or box squat), dead lifts, military/push presses
Friday:
heavy squat, heavy bench, heavy row

I was thinking about adding either sled work on Wednesdays or some sandbag work on a day off or two.

Even some sledgehammer/axe work as opposed to the sled or sandbag work.

Any advice, any words, anything would be awesome and would finally give my mind a day of rest and comfort.

Thank you.

What kind of sandbag training do you do, or do you plan on doing? I'm in Iraq with limited availability to weights and I would like some ideas for sandbag training

I've been doing some sled work in the vein of HIIT.

I really wanna get some cardio and conditioning in once to twice a week.

For example:

Monday I lift,

Tuesday I pull/drag,

Wednesday I lift,

Thursday I do some sandbag such as carries, cleans, clean and presses, pickups, etc.,

Friday I lift.

There's some great articles on sandbag/sled training on ChasingKaz.com
