Raspberry ketone (4-(4-hydroxyphenyl) butan-2-one; RK) is a major aromatic compound of red raspberry (Rubus idaeus). The structure of RK is similar to the structures of capsaicin and synephrine, compounds known to exert anti-obese actions and alter the lipid metabolism. The present study was performed to clarify whether RK helps prevent obesity and activate lipid metabolism in rodents. To test the effect on obesity, our group designed the following in vivo experiments: 1) mice were fed a high-fat diet including 0.5, 1, or 2% of RK for 10 weeks; 2) mice were given a high-fat diet for 6 weeks and subsequently fed the same high-fat diet containing 1% RK for the next 5 weeks. RK prevented the high-fat-diet-induced elevations in body weight and the weights of the liver and visceral adipose tissues (epididymal, retroperitoneal, and mesenteric). RK also decreased these weights and hepatic triacylglycerol content after they had been increased by a high-fat diet. RK significantly increased norepinephrine-induced lipolysis associated with the translocation of hormone-sensitive lipase from the cytosol to lipid droplets in rat epididymal fat cells. In conclusion, RK prevents and improves obesity and fatty liver. These effects appear to stem from the action of RK in altering the lipid metabolism, or more specifically, in increasing norepinephrine-induced lipolysis in white adipocytes.

I know I can't remember the definition of ketone. But I understand most of the article and this stuff sounds very interesting.

Well do tell...

I'm actually curious about transdermal applications although I haven't looked into tha type of carrier as in Lipoderm or Gel #3

Raspberry Ketones are similar in action orally to cayenne pepper or capsaicin without having to take so much as to burn a hole through your stomach lining.

So I'm thinking perhaps a revised 'Spookyderm' without tha burn...

Orally, as a standalone I wouldn't go much above 500-750mgs as you'll probably get diminishing results. Although I'm sure some still will.

Well, does this stuff taste like roasted ass hair and need to be capped, or is it going to be tolerable in powder form?

Anyone else just as happy as I am on the terrific detail used in the explanation of bad taste?

Damn, you guys are Relentless, and by relentless I don't mean Dave's PWO product. ;)

Nobody asked me how it tasted as I don't know, but remember taste is subjective and I highly doubt much, if anything, trumps CEE.

Cap it you weenies... geesh

Oh yeah, and for tha record, just so people don't believe I'm hoodwinking them. I have no standalone experience with RK. My recommendations are that of 'someone' in tha know. :)

I've gone up to 375mgs stacked no problem.

custom just FYI, a bunch of mislinked pages on the homepage
i.e. Omega's Cerberal ---> Nectar
i.e. Nectar ---> Lipo 6 Cap

Whoops

So sorry about that. That kind of stuff just comes out of my fingertips (I'm a professional writer).

Ive taken 250mg stack at one time. There is something in Scorch that gives me awesome focus/energy and this just might be it cause I know it aint the caffeine.

It does taste bad. I'll try it in Lipo-U but I don't want to waste a bottle as I am cheap so I just sprinle some powder unto my flab or make a solution and add Lipo afterwards. I'll try it tomorrow.

Do you even know if it'll work with that carrier?

From what I understand Raspberry ketones would work best in the ab-solved carrier (now abs-matrix I think) as RKs are lipophilic. It should still work in the LU carrier though.

Are Raspberry Ketones a vanilloid receptor agonist? If not, then using it in LU will not have the same affect as using capsaicin. A quick search didn't provide any info on this, but I didn't think they are vanilloid receptor agonists. Perhaps it will have use in a transdermal (if not just better absorption), but just not the same effect as capsaicin.
