It's a unscheduled over the counter supplement/herbal type that's found everywhere. Why would you want it sourced? Make sure it's not something that'll kill ya?

Maybe I should have said ______ look above in my edited post :)

bb.com has a pure l-tryptophan supplement. Invalid Link Removed
dont see why you would have a prob..think the law changed sometime ago about this amino.it is not dangerous it was banned because 1. there was a bad batch imported that got everyone sick and 2. it has a great antidepressant properties and once it was antidepressant really started booming in sales.

turkey has a high concentration of tryptophan thats why u get sleepy after thanksgiving dinner

I think it was a geneticaly modified bacteria that one japanese company switched to to make their processing costs cheaper. Quality control issues, death of some folks, overreaction of FDA, then Prozac came out.

your prob right i read about this so long ago i forgot the specifics.i know banning l-tryptophan opened the door for prozac

There is more tryptophan in pork than in turkey. Tryptophan is not the reason one would sleepy after thanksgiving dinner. More likely, however, is that after stuffing so much food into oneself, drowsiness insues. Tryptophan may create measurable (feel-able) affects when taken without other amino acids or only with a carbohydrate.

YOU are corrected.

actually beef and chicken contain the most.relax bud i was joking with you, i just looked up the tryptophan content in turkey on google.
