oh god, trainers are horrible with everything. Did they use calipers or the stupid "hold this in front of you" type mechanism? I remember I was signing up for a gym and the guy was like "do you want your BF% measured?" im like "hell yeah i was curious to see what it was".....it came out to something near 5% ......I started laughing and said, "really, damn then I dont need to join a gym now do i!" . I knew I was above 10, all my abs were barley visible.

The guy used both. He checked himself with the hold in front of you thing and said yup this is accurate. I was pretty sure I was going to be around 12-15

I would say around 12 or so cause abs are a little visible.

For reference this was 2 days before a bod pod reading of 13.6 percent.

A lot of people have misconceptions on what an accurate reading is.

I did the bod pod reading with this pic and it said I was 10.5%, my trainer told me those things can be off by as my as 5-7 points. Depends on hydration throughout the day

I don't doubt they can give false readings but they do suggest you come in fasted. I felt I was more around 11 when I went for it.

IMO the best way to judge is a multi point caliper reading. It's very tuff to take into account water, loose skin and such. In the end if you use the same measurements every time and judge progress off of that you get the most reliable gauge.
