  2. Thats my problem. All the clorie calculators I have tried say I need 3500 calories minimum. Thats easy on the weekends but during the week that is hard to do working in the heat. I'm gettin married in a couple weeks so literally all my money is tied up in that. I'm doin good just to eat a big dinner every night, much less all day. To meet my calorie minimum it takes candies and cakes, but that doesnt make up much protein so it seems pointless.

    try this for finding maintenance calories

    370+(21.6x LBM in kg)= BMR then multiply this x 1.55 for maintenance

    or what ive been using lately (and much easier) body weight x 13

  6. Ya I dont think I'm gonna get much gains so I've been focusing a lot on cardio now. I keep losin weight but I have enough muscle that it aint TOO terrible.

    That's a good idea, as soon as the times right BAM you'll blow up because you'll have the calories. I have 1month of dieting before i bulk for the winter, SO PUMPED!

  8. I use a calorie counter for my smartphone. It's amazing.

  9. I have to use a calculator, still don't have a smartphone yet.... Old school!

    I'll look into that, There's apps for anything on those. Workouts and a ton of other stuff too everyone shows me and now i feel like the "old" guy since i use the computer haha

  12. Yeah its handy and I finally forced myself into using it.

  13. black beans- you get lots of veggie servings, sweet complex carbs and protein 2 cans a day like 2 bucks for 7 veggie servings and loads of pro. Gives you flexible tasty dishes- fat free sour cream black beans and grilled diced chick on good wheat-non enriched wraps and you have a delicious way to eat. plus more room for lettuce and tomatoes and spices

  16. Cheap little addition as well that taste great and has good cals etc, Publix (or similar store if none around you) brand multi-grain bagels. Like $2.50 for 6 I think, taste awesome and have 280 Cals, 54g Carbs, 11g Protein in just one bagel. Add' egg's, spinach, etc (or you could just do Peanut butter, meats whatever etc) and you have one cheap, but great tasting calorie packed snack/sandwich that's easy to make.

  20. Well, I KNOW I've lost too much weight now. I went to get my marriage license today and the county clerk looked at my driver's license, then looked at me and said Wow you've shrunk! I've had that license for less than a year.

  22. Got my bady fat measured last night. A friend of mine got his ISSA strength training certification and bought a body fat caliper and wanted to try it out. After making all the measurements 5 times, we got an average of 8-9%. I have increased my caloric intake a ton over the last few months and have doubled my fat intake over the last month, but my muscles keep gettin denser instead of bigger and all my soft spots are melting. I like to be lean but without the muscle mass to go with it it don't look good. I added nightly ice cream to my diet last week, maybe thatll helpl.

    I get about 50g of protien during the day at work from snacks, then when I get home I eat 2 ham/turkey sandwiches loaded with meat, 3 eggs, and then about 3/4pound of ground beef or same amount of other meat in my dinner. I havent added up exactly how much that is, but its as much as I can eat without completely breaking the bank.

    I usually just have a yogurt or a shake on the way to work for breakfast but I've been trying to remember to cook some eggs the night before to take with me. This is gonna be a good week tho, there was a ton of barbeque left over from my weddin so my fridge is completely packed with brisket, sausage, and potatoes.

  28. Found a recipe for a homemade recovery drink. I started trying it after my tuesday run and it seems just as good as a sports drink, doesn't taste bad either. Just mix 8tsp sugar, 2tsp honey, 1/3tsp salt, 1tsp lime juice, and 24oz water. I'm gonna start addin different stuff to mix up the flavors but its a great pick-me-up after a hard workout or in the middle of a long run. And, its a HELL of a lot cheaper than Gatorade.

  30. Theres not a gym anywhere near me and I don't have very much equipment but I do as much lifting as I can 3 days a week. It usually consists of a long ab workout and a lot of body weight lifts. I have 1 30pound resistance band I use and some concrete blocks I do some lifts with. My spare bedroom and back yard are kind of a redneck warrior training center lol. I lift 3 days a week, run 3 days a week, and do a little core work on most run days. Its hardly a dream set up but I'm makin do with what I've got for now.

  36. Yes, sams club is just as good. I like Tuna in olive oil which gives you a few more good fats. Focus mostly on proteins, and good carbs like brown rice, and red potatos. Sams club also carries protein and vitamins.

  37. For the last week I have had a plate of brisket sausage and potatoes between all my meals, when I'm at home anyway, and it seems like my whole body feels better just from that. My workouts are still progressing in difficulty the same but I feel like I'm recovering a lot more in my sleep. I'm assumin its the extra protein and carbs from the extra meals feedin my muscles a little better than before.

    Now being from Texas that sounds like a great bulking idea. Inexpensive too.
