So I know the basic ingredients to make a shake- Whey, milk, EVOO, Oats, etc.
But what has always confused me is this: Are you blending these up? Or just mixing it in a shaker-cup and calling it good?
I throw in whey, milk, oats and a tsp. of olive oil into a shaker...shake it up, good to go (I remove the "strainer" )
I use a coffee grinder for the oats if I am putting them in a shake, then I use a blender.
Alright cool I know I've got a coffee grinder laying around somewhere I'll have to try that, I don't think I would like whole oats in my drink.
Any good suggestions for what to throw in? I've got chocolate whey now. I've found a bunch in the recipes to try, but whatcha got?
Blender: Milk, EVOO, pineapple(or any other fruits or berries), 1 banana, 2 eggs, yogurt, vanilla ice cream, oatmeal oats, flaxseed, whey and 5 ice cubes
here's a good recipe:
BLEND the following (using a blender obv):
Heaps of Ice, some water, tablespoon of peanut butter, 1/2 cup of oats and 2 scoops of good quality choc whey protein.
Put the protein in last (once all the others have uniformly blended). And adjust quantities to make sure it's very thick like a thick shake.
I find the outcome to be awesome.. It tastes like a thick shake with crushed Peanut M&Ms
I would think that'd taste pretty damn good depending on how much pineapple or other fruits you put in.
If you're worried how the eggs, EVOO, and flaxseed would taste in there you probably wouldn't even notice them. I never have at least.
One time I thought I'd throw some fish oil capsules inside before I turned on the blender... That didn't turn out so well haha.
I put in some chocolate syrup its makes it taste alot better, and adds 100 cals.
Used 8oz of 1% Milk (it's whats at the house)
Half of cup of Oats, grinded to a powder.
1.5 Scoops of Chocolate Mint Whey
1 TB of a light PB, (Didn't have anymore Natural)
1 Banana, Chopped before added to blender
6 Ice cubes
I skipped the OxiMega because I dosed it with my Creatine. (Side note: if you havn't seen my quasi log of the OxiMega, it's here.)
1 TB EVOO
Here's what I made up for breakfast:
2c i% milk
1cup quaker oats ground
I forgot to add EVOO, but it ended up being about 700cal, 75g Protein, 70 carbs, not sure on fat but it was very tasty, I'll need to ass the EVOO in tonight though
EVOO is disgusting in chocolate shakes! I'd rather use canola oil.
With the oats, I dump the whole tub of it in a blender and blend it into a flour, then toss the flour back in the tub. I use my protein scoop for the oat flour, it's about 1/4 cup.
2 cups whole milk, 2 scoops protein, 2 scoops oat flour, 1 tbsp canola oil should yield about 1100 cals.
My 5 lbs of powdered oats is arriving today.. Gonna add that and olive oil or flaxseed oil to my protein shakes..
