hey guys, i have a question.... does a shake count as a meal?
i eat REAl food every four hours so i would eat 8am-12pm-4pm-8pm.
and in between(2 hours after a meal) i would drink a shake.

Does this count as 4 meals a day or 8 meals a day?

Do you think eating 3 major meals every 6 hours with a nice shake in between would be better?


I take two dense shakes by the way. for ex. i put in whey,creatine,aminos,greens,peanut butter,milk,banana.

And then the other two i just take whey+water.

Seems like a lot of shakes. I would try to replace one of them with a meal. What does your diet look like(what do you eat). How many calories/macro breakdown?

I usually consider anything other than just whey+water a meal. I would say you eat 6 meals a day.

Try to keep as many meals as you can from whole food sources. I have six whole food meals a day all around 400-600 calories. The only one that is a shake that I consider a meal is first thing in the morning I have a shake consisting of 50g protein, 1 cup oats, tbsp peanut butter, and a banana. Comes in at around 500 calories or so. On workout days I will have a pre-workout and post-workout shake in addition to the six food meals.

I usually consider anything other than just whey+water a meal
i agree. try putting protein on a few cups of oatmeal and milk, about 1000 calories for 3 scoops of oatmeal.
